  1. Just to confirm Wales weather forecast Sunday 17 Jan - Thursday 21 Jan Headline: A sunny morning, then turning cloudy. Showers in the west. Today: A dry day for most, with some sunny spells though the morning before cloud moves in during the afternoon. A few showers are likely in western areas during the morning and in the north later. Maximum temperature 8 °C. Tonight: Showers in the north continue through the evening, before spreading to most areas during the early hours. Some clear spells may develop, but cloud will move in again before dawn. Minimum temperature 0 °C. Monday: A few showers are likely in the morning, before outbreaks of heavy rain move in for the rest of the day. Staying cloudy all day and winds will strengthen later. Maximum temperature 10 °C. Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday: Persistent heavy rain on Tuesday and Wednesday, possibly turning to sleet or snow on Wednesday night as temperatures cool. Strong winds on Tuesday. Brighter on Thursday, with scattered wintry showers. Updated: 04:00 (UTC) on Sun 17 Jan 2021 and we still got this UK long range weather forecast Thursday 21 Jan - Saturday 30 Jan From Thursday onwards rather cold and unsettled conditions look likely for most of the UK, as a low pressure system remains to the northeast. Northwesterly winds from this system are expected to bring frequent showers, particularly to north and west-facing coasts, and this will likely fall as snow over high level areas, and also down to lower levels at times. Atlantic low-pressure systems are expected to cross the south of the country at times, bringing rainfall and periods of slightly milder temperatures, and there will be a risk of snowfall on the boundary between the mild and cold air masses. Northern and central areas are more likely to be affected by wintry hazards during this period. Updated: 04:00 (UTC) on Sun 17 Jan 2021
  2. Could be interesting for us. Latest Met forecast UK long range weather forecast Wednesday 20 Jan - Friday 29 Jan Rain and strong winds clear from the southeast during Wednesday. Most areas will see bright and mostly dry conditions following, but showers will affect the north and northwest. From Thursday onwards rather cold and unsettled conditions look likely for most of the UK, northwesterly winds will bring frequent showers, particularly to north and west-facing coasts, falling as snow over high ground and also down to lower levels at times. Atlantic low-pressure systems are expected to cross the south of the county at times, bringing rainfall and periods of slightly milder temperatures, and there will be a risk of snowfall on the boundary between the mild and cold airmasses. Northern and central areas are more likely to be affected by wintry hazards during this period. Updated: 04:00 (UTC) on Sat 16 Jan 2021 M4 corridor North
  3. Looking good UK long range weather forecast Sunday 17 Jan - Tuesday 26 Jan Settled conditions for most on Sunday, however light rain may remain across the far east with blustery showers pushing across north and western parts at times. Into the next week unsettled conditions will continue with winds from the north bringing cold conditions from Scandinavia across much of the country by the end of the week. Rainfall is also expected for the north with a risk of organised snowfall especially over high ground. Drier in the south with the potential for frontal bands bringing rain and or snow at times. Temperatures most likely rather cold/cold for much of the UK, but a chance near or slightly above average in association with any rain that cross the south. Updated: 16:00 (UTC) on Tue 12 Jan 2021
  4. Been a long time viewer (probably 15 years plus) Quick question and a thought reference models Do you think there will come a day where the models are 100% accurate? If that would happen how boring this thread would be become. I never post on here but fascinated how different people have different thoughts about the same models (that is apart from the few who just try to wind posters up)
  5. W COUNTRY: Spell of avg to above avg temperatures this week looks temporary: chillier trend Fri onwards favours fall below avg. However, much uncertainty during w/c 17th as to ultimately just *how* cold (or not!) - as temperature spread below (via @ECMWF , #Melksham shown) attests latest from Fergie
  6. About as clear as mud Wales weather forecast Sunday 10 Jan - Thursday 14 Jan Headline: Dry at first but becoming milder and wet on Monday. Today: A cold start with a few fog patches. Remaining largely dry throughout the day with sunny spells at times. Chance of a few isolated showers around the coast. Becoming milder. Maximum temperature 8 °C. Tonight: Cloud building during the evening with perhaps some patchy light rain. Overnight a few clearer spells before cloud thickens from the northwest by dawn. A milder night in the north. Minimum temperature -1 °C. Monday: Cloud thickening throughout the morning with outbreaks of heavy rain during the afternoon. A mild and windy day. Skies clearing overnight and turning colder with a frost in the north. Maximum temperature 10 °C. Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday: Colder with sunshine on Tuesday although cloudier with perhaps rain in the far south and west. Outbreaks of heavy rain on Wednesday and milder. Drier on Thursday with sunny spells. Updated: 04:00 (UTC) on Sun 10 Jan 2021 UK long range weather forecast Thursday 14 Jan - Saturday 23 Jan Most likely unsettled with rain and hill snow spreading north and east on Thursday. Drier conditions following later in the week but with a chance of further spells of rain arriving from the west. Mild in the south and west, and colder further north and east. Into the following week, rather unsettled conditions with spells of rain and perhaps strong winds will cross the UK at times. The heaviest and most prolonged periods of rainfall are more likely in the south and west. Drier and more settled conditions are more likely in the north and east. Temperatures are uncertain with colder weather more likely in the north and east and milder conditions in the south and west. However, there is a chance of cold spells for all areas. Updated: 04:00 (UTC) on Sun 10 Jan 2021 Saturday 23 Jan - Saturday 6 Feb Confidence for this period is low, though there is a signal for weaker than average westerly winds with Atlantic systems likely to track further south than normal. Therefore, for the north of the UK it is expected to be drier than normal with temperatures around average to a little below. Further south there is an increased chance of unsettled conditions, with above average precipitation and with temperatures slightly above average. Through this period there is a greater than average chance of cold spells across the UK with the associated risk of wintry hazards. There is potential at times for significant snowfall on the boundary between milder and colder air masses, with greatest risk across central and northern areas. 11. Keep the faith going And we all must pray to the great snow gods (andy has the advantage living closer to them)
  12. North of the M4 corridor here we come Tuesday 19 Jan - Tuesday 2 Feb Confidence for this period is low, though there is a signal for Atlantic mobility to weaken which perhaps allows conditions, at least in the north, to become drier and for temperatures to be closer to average. However, there is still a chance of cold air outbreaks in the north as flow across Scandinavia pushes across the North Sea. This would confine more unsettled conditions to the south, as well as milder than average temperatures. Further, this boundary between the cold and milder conditions could also allow for some significant snowfall where the two air masses. Updated: 16:00 (UTC) on Tue 5 Jan 2021
  13. couple more pics of 82 in south Wales for Jay and for us old persons to remember when we had proper winters. Also when we queued for food pubs were closed and we couldn't go anywhere. Bit like today without the white stuff

Northwestern coasts may see scattered, wintry showers during the early hours. Feeling cold, with clear spells bringing a risk of frost. Minimum temperature -2 °C.
