Very icy this morning. That drizzle on frozen surfaces is lethal. Be careful out there people.

Just played peek a boo into the mad thread. Clutching at straws sprung to mind, which is good, itmeans aint much happening soon. Talking of soon, the sooner we get into mild the better. Heating bills are unsustainable

People moan about 'tiring heat of 30c' because as a country we are not used to it or prepared for it. Very few homes have ac and are designed to keep heat in. That is why we head abroad, pools, no work and ac. We have archaic work regulations and work times unlike our European counterparts who are more adapted to it.

Morning all. Another windy day in tower crane land. Feet up

How do people remember things, for example, people write, oh yes 2008 March was cloudy but dry if I remember. How is that? Its like remembering what colour pants you wore 14 years ago

I was in upstate New York Christmas 2002. We had a storm come through on Boxing day which dumped a huge amount of snow and temps fell away very steeply after..-20 and lower at night. It was quite an eye opener, so this event is unprecedented.

I think all these people longing for sub zero temperatures and snowfall must be millionaires. I, for one, am glad for a mild spell as heating costs are nearing being unsustainable.

Just had a quick dive onto the last page of the madhouse and seen those infamous words 'more runs needed' They do make me chuckle, it's like pulling the arm on a bandit. Keep it spinning until you get what you want to see.

You are always moaning about model thread, not sure if you're trolling, but if you want to improve MOD, why don't you post in there and 'improve' it
The irony of this post in the moans thread

It’s of no value replying to posts dismissing them as rubbish / fodder / useless as they are u likely to be correct. I have been viewing models for over 20yrs before the internet I was posted fax charts. As you have so much experience and knowledge to share I look forward to your insightful thoughts?
Re the low next week it looks like the envelope is central France to Leeds at the moment. My gut says at the moment it scrapes the south coast but still plenty of time for changes. In the meantime keep posting the day 5-10 snow charts / model runs and insightful analysis everyone..that’s what you do on a weather forum
The reverse also works, just because you post and believe them does not necessarily mean you are correct. It's an open forum

Matt Hugo with by far the most sensible post this am saying that until anything is within 120 hours then just treat it with a very large grain of salt
even by netweather standards the mood swings every 12 hours have been violent !
Thats because he knows what he is talking about

BE - we dont pronounce it "Brizzle" - it's more like Bris-tauw, Bris-tauwl or the 'old' way, Bris-tl(e).
The "Brizzle" thing came from newbies who thought that's how we say it.
Cheers (drive)
Actually brizzle comes from brizzley bear the rugby mascot but heh ho

Over analysis leads to murky waters in Mad..I'll simplify it. Dry and cold for most, some snow for some. That's based on a computer algorithm. Everything can and will change

First 2 weeks back to work after Xmas break were very windy. I'm in a Tower Crane. Since then, been very calm. Even my lad has fished nearly every day since then and he skippers a trawler. It's ying and yang though...we will get some, it's just when.
