  1. Right... Ready for snowballs, sledging a pub walk and rugby today... Rinse and repeat for tomorrow me thinks, just no rugby.
  2. Reckon Newlands Corner might be even better? Beautiful or of the window this morning
  3. Its a great bonus....a proper snow day tomorrow.... May you wake up to similar snow!!
  4. The way the snow is clinging to the trees tonight is amazing. It's a real shame that @carinthian left the forum. Whilst mainly a lurker and occasional poster I really enjoyed his pics of Austria...I also really enjoy @TomSE12 historical posts... As an historian myself I take a lot of time to digest them. Anyway today wasn't the best of days... The bunnies did their snow dance last night but want even enough for a reprieve from the nut chop today.... Unfortunately one of them didn't get through the anesthetic and we only brought one bunny home this afternoon. Suffice to say one bunny, daughter (and mum and dad!) are slightly down tonight.... But the snow still looks amazing... The trees tonight... Hopefully these pics look good (the little bunny says hello!!).. And it's still tanking down in Holmbury St Mary
  5. Thank you snowbob.... I've had some really nice chats on the occasions I do post...
  6. Still snowing heavily here in the Surrey Hills... Good night all... Stay safe
  7. Anyway there's no trying to apologise to some people so I may as well just show a pic of what they're missing out on
  8. Sorry all....I should not have reacted in the way I did to a post just now. Today has been a thoroughly s@&t day and I bit. It's not what I would normally do. I've enjoyed the last couple of days in here and I don't post regularly. I'm not "a horrible person", in fact I've spent be my evening helping various stranded cars/ drivers on the steep road outside out house get home safely. I hope everyone here has enjoyed the snow, and all your friends and family are safe
  9. I'm not offended at all.... I've lived through many snowless winters both here in the south and in East Anglia and yet also had snowmeggdon (Jan 1996) in the centre of the country in Coventry. It's nothing to do with elevation and you don't need to be a met student to work that out.... Quite frankly I couldn't careless if all the snow disappeared tomorrow, just to see the smile on the faces of the children I teach for a few flakes of snow each year.... As it is the North is no more inclined to snow than any other part of the country... Family in Huddersfield have had less snow events in the last 10 years than we "in the south" have had... Friends in the far north of Scotland have had barely a snow covering all winter or in the ten years they've lived on the east coast....
  10. The great pink blob on the radar had barely moved in hours.... Quite happy!
  11. Snow depth really depends on how tall you are... If you're a midget then it's really is epic.... If you're 10ft tall then I guess it's looking meagre... All a matter of perception... In any case it's been an epic evening...
  12. Still tanking down here, that's 7 solid hours!! Looking very pretty!! As promised, following a thrilling rugby match, @DAVE ALLEN and @kold weather here's some pics. Taken ten mins ago.. This had significant built up since this afternoon when it was all melting
  13. I'm not ready to move on yet... This one's decided to ok itself right over us and not move.... I'm being selfish.... We might not get another chance
  14. Will take one shortly... Just watching the rugby!! Some things are even more important than the weather
  15. I live in Holmbury St Mary just off leith hill and it's been tanking with snow since 3pm this afternoon. The A25 is awful now.... Very hopeful for the rest of the night
  16. Still absolutely dumping in the Surrey Hills. The A25 between Dorking and Guildford is treacherous.... Looking at the radar it seems to have completed staked over the top of us..... Lots still to come!!!!????
  17. @DAVE ALLEN on Leith Hill Heavy snow... But down in forest green and beare green more rain than snow.... Popped out to collect the curry tonight as they probably won't delivery to use this evening
  18. Has been absolutely tanking it down in Holmbury St Mary since 3pm. One mile down the road on thea25 and into Dorking....naff all.. may have changed now of course?
  19. Perhaps our bunnies snow dance has done the trick..... Steady snow again in Holmbury St Mary....
  20. In between you both and the Surrey Hills snow shield is fully operational...
  21. Even our two little bunnies have been praying tonight..... The boys are due at the vet in Dorking at 8:30 in the morning to have their nuts chopped..... At the moment it looks like this time tomorrow they'll be licking their wounds not celebrating another week of freedom....
  22. Hopefully that big hole in the radar will fill in soon and deposit south of the M25.... We can hope
