  1. Part of the MetO's model data we the public do not see speaks volumes. They know what we the public view on the various models. Even our Mr Mild Ramper Everton Fox is still going for snow for S/SE to spread Northwards. here comes the big BUT, their disclaimer (which is understandable) ...This warning will be updated by 1100 tomorrow, Wednesday 7th February 2007.
  2. I'm expecting model upgrades. Temps on Saturday will fall. As for Thursday, heavy snow for S/SE to begin with, then Northwards it goes. Surprised your temps in Exeter was 4.3C @ 23:39 hrs! Air temps in Croydon is currently -1C! I would like you to confirm when the so called even larger teapot started in the UK. As I mentioned a few weeks ago, my Grandad who was born in 1901 kept records on weather patterns and I can tell you right now that you would then have to class some of the good old days as modern winters too!
  3. Looking at the snow forecast is one thing, but I can tell you that there will be snow South of the M4 too for a time.
  4. Models are gearing up for significant snowfall across many parts of the UK. Even the S/SE including London will get snow late Wednesday onwards.
  5. This chart http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/Rukm1201.gif is very interesting indeed. This is something which is being monitored very closely. This chart falls precisely with Robert's prediction which is very canny!! Goodnight all.
  6. This is correct. The channel low on the latest models eg GFS shows this low egding more towards France. This may not be the case. This low along with the secondary low will be very interesting. Don't forget to go back a page or two to Nick Sussex's interesting analysis from the NOAA regarding the state of the models eg GFS. PS.....After a quick e-mail yesterday, good old Everton Fox's BBC monthly forecast is now in line with this cold snap
  7. No, parts of London and the SE are still in the firing line for wintry showers. Nick Sussex is doing a great job letting us all know the latest info from NOAA regarding the ups and downs of the models.
  8. Don't be at all surprised for the snow to penetrate further South.
  9. The 10th Feb 12z T108 may fall into Robert's prediction. Very stormy/wintry.
  10. You are basing one model run as a downgrade. I got my fingers burnt badly last year in a matter of speaking regarding info I receive on model outcomes. Sorry if this is not a 'prove it model' response PT. I'm still positive that we will have a good battle between Cold v Mild this week with wintry showers extending just anywhere.
  11. If you see ONE downgrade, why do you go into the doom and gloom mode??!! Over the two week period, we have seen upgrades and downgrades!! That's the beauty of model watching. Don't give up just yet as the battle of Cold v Mild is still on. I would say to you, 'Expect Upgrades as well'.
  12. Depends where far South you are referring too. Don't be too hasty just yet. More surprises in store. B) Goodnight all.
  13. NS, A very good observation. This is precisely what the MetO have been observing for some time now. It does look like the Scandi High will build with stronger resistance. Exciting times with upgrades to come. By the way, I'm expecting even colder temps than forecast.
  14. The upgrades will be very interesting with even more colder conditions.
  15. Definitely more upgrades to come. Very interseting times to come  Goodnight all
  16. Not a bad DIY snow risk chart! Very surprised by WIB's comments earlier on. I think it may be due to the models shifting away from his predictions/forecasts and going for a colder outlook. Get ready for upgrades with delight.
  17. The storm force winds in Croydon, Surrey - Greater London has brought down a tree I travel along daily. Incidently, the tree came down after I had driven past . No reports of injuries so far.
  18. The gusty winds in Croydon, Surrey - Greater London has brought down a tree. No reports of injuries so far.
  19. Malin Head on the northern coast of Northern Ireland has recorded a gust of 91mph in the past hour. Isle of Islay - west coast of Scotland - has recorded agust of 86 mph within the past hour
  20. With the cold air not that far away, we may be in for colder conditions.
  21. Hi, We were expexting a MetO report regarding the coming cold period. They have gone into more detail which is interesting, but this is all I can say if you know what I mean!
  22. A few guys from the BBC. As some of them are childish, I wouldn't bother any more. Thanks for getting back to me.
  23. Certain guys are trying to log inito Net-Weather with no luck. Any issues your end?
