Torquay looks to be bang in the firing line for the streamer from NOW!
Heavy snow!!!
I'm waiting for the next lot of heavy snow to get some more pics. Keeping my eye on the webcam, its definitely picking up again here.

Maybe in the next 30 minutes that cam will get nasty again. If it gets anything like it did this morning I will feel spoilt although I've waited decades to have the experience I had in the blizzard earlier. Last time that happened I was a lad about 12 and lived in Yorkshire.

Is this going to be the "Biggie" for south Devon today? Very jealous! Lived there for a very very long time in hope for this day, had to put up with 30 minutes of sleet while the rest of the country got covered so so many times. Well seems it's payback time. Anything over 6 inches is massive down there. If you live in Devon or Cornwall, keep the reports coming in please!!!
This was at 11:39 this morning in Torquay when it had only been snowing for around 90 minutes. It's been light for the last few hours but picking up again now.

Wow - and that was on very wet roads. Super fine stuff starting to fall here. I think this is going to be much more dramatic than the Beast Mk1 for this corner of our region.
Just heading out now to get pics. Beast 1 doesn't compare at all to this. Definitely the worst snow here since the 80's.

Snow is just arriving now in Torquay. I'm going to watch the radar and webcam and see how fast it settles and how heavy it gets and then get out with the camera.
Good quality webcam: http://www.skylinewebcams.com/webcam/united-kingdom/england/torquay/torquay.html

Thanks everybody, I've been watching the thread since yesterday and really enjoyed reading all your reports. In the next hour Torquay is about to get slammed! I'll get out there once it starts settling and get you some good pics.

A few more pics taken this afternoon after this morning's blizzard in Torquay. I went out to get some more pictures and found some Horsechestnut opening up which I hope will be OK, and on the seafront one of the Olive trees was full of black olives and covered in snow! You can't eat them off the tree though you have to process them but I have no idea how to do that. Its been snowing here all day although not at the intensity of this morning.
