  1. Jeez - I rememer that event well...stayed just over the river and the snow was frightening What I'd give to see more of that...
  2. How far into the mainland do you think it (they) will make it ? I'm assuming they will lose some strength as they get closer to land ?
  3. Freezing already in Stirling 2c and -1c windchill... Watching the polar low is fascinating - and we'd probably not be getting a chance to talk about it under normal circumstances as talk of it gets swallied up in other threads
  4. Darn Sarf - they could only wish to wake up to a landscape like this :o
  5. xcweather has the wind blowing in the right direction Not sure about the temps tho currently 1c and -2c dewpoint in Glasgow...
  6. According to the BBC forecast - Sat night is meant to see some decent snow up through the Borders to the Central Belt and north...
  7. Ross - what do you think the chances are, of keeping a Scottish Thread pinned ongoing from now ? It's been a breath of fresh air being able to "freely" post in here with fellow Sporran wearers..sometimes the Model Thread etc get a bit too technical
  8. Just looked at Meto rainfall radar and it sure looks interesting up north....it looks to be moving very very slowly southwards, so I'm officially adopting it as "Today's Main Event". This allows me to sit and stare rabidly at my monitor urging the ppn to get it's backside down to the Central Belt. MON THEN !
  9. Naff all in Stirling last night. It's not even cold. I'm sitting at work in my shorts n shades.... Cocktail anyone ?
  10. http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/radar/index.html Hmmm.. Seems to be moving sw and fragmenting all the while...thinking nothing more for the central belt...
  11. I missed it - I'm assuming Stirling will get some...still really fine snow, no wind and baltic currently
  12. Ha The Curse of the Wereflake. Dangerous animal so I hear....very elusive....
  13. Meh... Temp dropped to freezing and a dp of -1c.
  14. I've bitten the bullet and bought a new car. I can't cope with this 1mm worth of snow - scared I might get snowed in. Hail to the Stirling Tractor Brigade...
  15. 1-2cm ? Englandshire closes with less than half that
  16. Currently 1c in Stirling, dp -2c - but I beg to differ, it's baltic outside, really really cold Good to hear the heavy stuff is moving down from Shetland just now .....
  17. Needing it take a coffee break for an hour or so just so the temps can start dipping again
  18. Just drove home from the weej to Stirling - snowing all the way, but nothing major...fine snow in Stirling ground too wet just now. Hope this isn't "it" for us ! Just checking the radar, what happened to the front moving up from the south, looks like it's swung away westwards...so much for the extreme warnings and mucho teeth gnashing.
  19. Not much difference between light and extreme snow showers then
  20. In the weej now - and it's clouding over nicely...a few small flakes, temp 1c and dp -3c
  21. It's reached Stirling/Dublane From Nadics Live Eye
  22. That was my understanding as well WX...I noticed on an earlier Sky weather bulletin that the lp coming up looked to meet our northerly system slap bang over us, and now, given that it seems to be building as it slowly moves down the country, when those two meet, it's going to be interesting.... Would still like to see the meto put their heads over the parapet and call it
  23. I'm moving there - Dromochter's the way forward
