  1. Cracking webcam of the Kings Course in Gleneagles... Look at the front moving south (cam points North) http://www.camvista.com/sports/golf/gleneag.php3
  2. Beeb seems to have discounted any "significant" snow further than where Shugs says ^.... Certainly now, according to them, none for the central region...
  3. Glasgow Hazy Temp: -6°C Humidity: 92% Wind Speed: 2 MPH Barometer: 996 mb Dewpoint: -7°C Heat Index: -6°C Wind Chill: -7°C
  4. Not sure about this - but I just caught Sky Weather in the canteen at work, and I'm sure I saw them show that the system coming up from the south "meeting" the northerly incursion somewhere in the borders area...would this not give a significant amount of snow as the two meet ?
  5. Wow - just drove from Stirling to Glasgow...jeez that's cold. Car temp gauge thingy didn't get above -5c the entire journey, at one point on the M80, actually dropped to -8c ! My deicer froze on the windscreen as well. Certainly the coldest morning for a long long time. Just need to hope the snow from the north moves down the country during the day - the BBC are reporting it hitting the Central Belt around teatime which should play nicely into the temps/dp's hand [Edit] -7c and -7c dewpoint currently in Glasgow.. Stirling same temp and -8c dp... Just to pick up on a point in the closed thread - I was getting a little irked reading the model thread yesterday, esp as it seemed to be very Anglo-centric (is that a word) - no offence, but the severe weather doesn't stop at Carlisle It's a breath of fresh air having a dedicated Scottish "thread" where we can actually ask "Will it snaw in Glenbogle likesay"....
  6. MetO...Pah. I wont be happy until I see the Red Cone across the central belt. Then I'll KNOW it'll be raining here Have a hunch they are underplaying the morra tho...
  7. I swear the MetO have forgotten about us and the northerly due to hit us TOMORROW night !
  8. Got to say - the gfs snow risk models from yesterday, weren't to far off the mark save for Lewis (!) - looking at them for tomorrow night through to Thursday, gives some serious potential as the front moves down from the north... Can't wait - just hope the temps play ball this time !
  9. Just looking through various media outlets - most are reporting some "major" snow heading into Scotland (eastern) through the course of today...the MetO warning seems a little vague only really applicable to ground above 200m, yet the media are in my opinion, guilty of making this into something it won't be.... The wind is still blowing in from the east, so, maybe there's a slight chance of seeing a snow shower - but with sodden ground and a dp of 2c in Stirling, I think nowt is coming today....
  10. Jeez - woke up this morning to torrential rain.... MetO have a warning still in place for tomorrow, but then nothing for the rest of the week....
  11. Hope so - but the temps need to sort themselves out :o
  12. Baws burst up here I think...temp in Stirling 1c dewpoint 0c.. Pah n Pfft
  13. Stirling is current 0deg with a 0c dewpoint....
  14. Snow showers will continue through the evening and will merge into some longer spells of sleet and snow overnight. 5 to 10cm is likely away from the east coast with perhaps 15cm over higher ground, where there will be drifting in the strong northeasterly winds. On low ground the snow will gradually turn to sleet or rain. The public are advised to take extra care and refer to 'Traffic Scotland' for further advice on road conditions. Issued at: 1655 Mon 2 Feb Central area
  15. Mega blizzard just blown through Stirling - out for a walk and it's perishing.... hope that's not the last What's the eta on the southerly easterly ?
  16. Oh dear - the GFS is the proverbial damb squib...
  17. Tis another whiteout in Stirling - and it's bitingly cold... Heaviest shower I've seen this afternoon - getting to the "best part of the day"
