  4. most models have dolly hitting the yukatan, the defining factor will be how long a path she has across it, as to whether she will have chance to re-organise into a major storm once out in the gulf.

  15. really impressive hail, roads white over for a few minutes in Barton on Humber, accompanied by 4 of 5 decent cracks of thunder and some nice C to G strikes over towards the humber bridge.
  16. Well if we carry on this way, we'll be needing to build an ark, never mind worrying about records! The Met Office are expecting a further period of persistent and locally heavy rain on Sunday night and during Monday. The heaviest rain is expected across the northern half of England and north Wales with widespread rainfall amounts of 25 to 30 mm and locally 40 to 80 mm, along with a risk of up to 100 mm over hills. Localised flooding is likely where ground is already saturated and there could be some disruption to transport networks. This warning will be updated by 1200 on Saturday 19th January 2008. I think this will tip us over the edge across Yorks and Lincs, I just hope mother nature is kind to us until then.
  17. 2-3 cms in Barton on Humber, nice suprise with us being at sea level, albeit 20 miles up river.
  18. This is not a political forum, however to set the record straight gordy is visiting the affected areas tommorrow. I am sure he will make a great difference to those poor people.

  21. This year is totally unprescedented - and will affect everyone (insurance hikes etc) for sure IMO. I have only been glancing at the images but to be honest by what i have seen it lookes equally as bad if not worse to what we suffered last time. I just hope the rain now progged for our area moves through pretty quick or people are going to flood again. i hope there will be no loss of life today!
  22. struggling to upload an image of the radar but rates of 8 to 16mm / re and torrential stuff embedded in this lot coming. dont know how long it will take to move through but seems to be intensifying once it hits land as it comes in off the north sea
  23. looks like hereford will get several more hours of rain on that conveyor belt of torrential rain... very worrying indeed.
