  1. A couple of decent days look locked in for the south with warm temperatures approaching 32c. Next weekend could bring a substantial change or just a blip. It's currently up in the air depending which model you favour.
  2. I’m just curious but why do people think it’s clever to switch between C and F, is it just for a reaction? For what it’s worth next week looks good for the south, 30c is possible Wednesday through Saturday.
  3. I'm certainly looking forward to the Saturday-Tuesday period down here on the south coast. Those showers that passed through earlier were certainly potent. Looking further ahead the rest of next week could bring anything, but looking at the charts I would suggest the south coast may very well fair well and Royal Ascot (minus them) will be a fair weather meeting.
  4. As it is not even hot, how will you cope in the summer? The weather looks set fair for the next 5 or six days, then the possibility of some showery weather with a slight cooling of temps. Obviously FI is not worth talking about as it's as reliable as a tabloid newspaper. All in all a very good spell of spring weather.
  5. If you like an Easterly gale it’s fab. It will feel very chilly in East Anglia. The next week looks like being dry and increasingly warm away from North Sea coasts.
  6. I don’t understand why certain people on here cling to 10 day charts as gospel. Do you not understand the real world. In the reliable the south looks like warming up a treat.
  7. Well we have had seven cloudless days down here on the Hampshire Riviera, let’s hope for another seven next week.
  8. Surely only a moron craves a cold spell and all the risk associated with it spreading the pesky virus. On the small plus side a cooler dry spell would help people who have purchased houses on flood plains dry out. As it stands it looks like the Atlantic onslaught could be tamed for a while.
  9. And wasn’t that after the so called experts on here had written it off too.
  10. I know. Your garden always seems to be 3 or 4 degrees warmer than neighbouring postcodes.
  11. I’m surprised we haven’t seen 38.8c in Croydon to beat the official UK record.
  12. I don’t understand the need to use both F and C when quoting temperatures, it’s just tabloid sensationalism. Everything as usual is so knife edge. It’s interesting to see how the rest of Europe cope with a few warm days, we always seem to have an excuse. Back to the charts and it looks good for a few days, hopefully the cloud stays away and temperatures rocket, the ECM looks good, but come the morning it could all be so different
  13. Where have all the Queens gone who stated the end of summer was here based on one run? Being realistic the south looks very pleasant for the foreseeable with temps into the mid 20’s easily. A northerly generally brings the highest temps to places such as Lee on Solent, Portsmouth, Gosport and Southampton, alas forecasters generally don’t predict this, it’s frustrating.
  14. One day of warmth and people can’t stop complaining. 29c on the hill slopes of Portsmouth at present and not a breath of wind so all is good.
  15. Isn’t it frustrating to read about people finding a one day hot spell too hot. We had a lovely 31c day here in Portsmouth, I’m sure Southsea beach was much cooler.
  16. Not really considering the north east wind then, whereas the more southerly today is blowing in over a frigid channel.
  17. It’s always fun to come on here and have a giggle at what people write... However in the real world Saturday looks good with a brisk southerly finally bringing the first hot day of the year, followed by a cooler blip before a decent high brings settled mild days with temps potentially hitting 25c. Down here on the Hampshire Riviera it’s been a pleasant 24/25c today, but a few more degrees wouldnt go amiss.
  18. Can someone advise when a chart in D10 - D15 ever verified? The outlook looks cooler, but hardly winter cold.
  19. Not unbroken sun today but warmer, we have just hit 30c in suburban Portsmouth with a gentle northerly breeze. It’s lovely.
  20. Even in a normal summer today wasn’t great and tomorrow looks grim.
  21. Exactly. I don’t get people complaining about warm weather, it is summer after all. 21c and blustery all day in Portsmouth not a good day even in a usual UK summer.
  22. Looks like Pershore was the hot spot today at 30c. The next few days appear warm with highs of 29-31c, perhaps a tad more in the usual areas. Whilst this summer has been warm and very dry we have been without extremes. Let’s hope for a southerly from a baked Spain.
