Over on the model thread, they are beginning to wonder about whether it may be repeated next Tuesday.
Someone tell them it's Cheltenham.. Snow, bu&ger off.

Patches of grass poking through.. Early thaw?
-
Blue sky, sun creeping through!

Stopped here now (WS3)
And you've had you fun, hoping now for a downpour to get it cleared and then into Spring, it's Cheltenham next week -
Are we looking at much snow overnight in the West Midlands, what sort of commute will it be?
-
Very light snow swirling around in WS3

Well this is a mess.
Even at 9.55 pm last night the BBC were saying a nice sunny morning here, clouding over at lunchtime..
Looks like the skies full of snow to me!

A snowy week followed by a breakdown next weekend would be perfect. Hopefully leading to it being good to soft, soft in places for champions day.
And spring like temperatures with drying out ground for gold cup day...
Any models going out to the 17th yet?- 2

Yes it finally looks like Winter is arriving next week, looks like I may have to order some more heating oil!
Midlands today's long range forecast just now, has snow for next Tuesday.
very raw today, drizzly rain falling at tea time and it felt icy.

Yuk. Bit of a change this morning. Light, cold rain!

Over on the model thread they are focusing on the return of winter.
But having just spent an hour in the garden in warm feeling sunshine, that seems almost impossible.

I have photographs of deep lying snow in Somerset on March 18 2018. It is quite simply not true that snow cannot lie in mid March. Ideally, however, the weather stays cloudy obviously….
What about March 2013, which ran into an early Easter? From memory snow lingered for a few days, if not a couple of weeks.

When did we last have any significant rain?

So far this month has seen a glorious spell of weather around here.
Sunny days and frosty nights with almost calm conditions.
Great for walks and it has enabled me to give the lawn it's first light cut.
Got a feeling we may see more cloud towards the weekend but it's been great so far.
If we can't get snow then this is a decent second prize.
Still treads like there's frost in my lawn.
I'm not a gardener, however I had new turf laid last Spring, should I be cutting it in February?

I much prefer summer to winter but joined this thread just as summer was ending... it will be strange seeing people express pleasure at seeing warm charts, when the time comes!
If we have anything like June/July last year, you will never keep up.

Only patches of snow left here now, but still very icy where it is. Very frosty already and some light fog starting to develop.
Beautiful morning here, but looked like a real sharp frost.
Any idea how low it got?

Just had a sharp snow shower as I reached Willenhall

Horrid January so far with another wet morning, only compensation is a low usage of the heating.
looks interesting next week, but I for one would just welcome a bit of a dry spell.

Some excitement over on the model thread....
A cold & frosty Christmas? No snow showing just yet for the big day. -
The last bitterly cold day of this spell. Have to say I'm happy about that, just read the gas meter and it's not pretty this week!
I like a cold and snowy spell as much as anyone, but as this one didn't deliver much in the way of snow it feels a bit of a waste!
BBC reporting double figures every day next week now (yesterday they had 3's and 4's) from mid-week onwards. -
Tonight's Midlands today introducing snow into the forecast for the coming weekend.
