Is it tho? People said back in the 90's & 00's that extreme cold was done for the UK but then in the last 10 years we've had record breaking cold events. Just because this year has been a stinker for coldies doesn't automatically mean future winters will be.

People keep saying how mild it is, wearing shorts & t-shirts etc. Well i've just been for a ramble in the Peak District and there's quite a windchill, everyone had thick coats, hats and gloves on - not a pair of shorts in sight!

Shorts and t-shirt, slightly over egging it aren't we lol. Yes it was very pleasant yesterday but still quite cool in the shade. I think most people would agree that mid teens temps is not short weather unless going for a run or something.

Are you sure? because countless people with more skill and knowledge than us lot put together have at times been baffled as to why this winter has been a bust. If you genuinely thought it was going to be a mild winter back in december before we saw the effects of the ssw, background signals, how the US storm would scupper our easterly attempt etc etc, you are more of an expert than anyone.

The amount of negativity in here this morning is bordering on the unhealthy. I think all those who keep threatening to throw the towel in should do just that asap so the rest of us can move on, whether there is any cold left this winter or not.

People get slated in here for clutching at straws - well at least they are hunting for cold! No matter how bleak it may appear for coldies, during the winter there will always be a crumb to chase which is a heck of a lot more appropriate to this thread then just typing that the next month will be mild/zonal etc. So it's not about being lied to, it's ( to use a football analogy) about not raving about how wonderful man utd are on a liverpool fan site.

Disagree. I think nearly everyone understands how difficult it is to get snowfall right because of all the variables and quite frankly anyone who gets annoyed that it isn't snowing at the exact minute it says on an app is rather deluded.

You couldn't make it up - Sheffield has been under a met office weather warning all week then as soon as it ceases, it starts snowing heavens high and settling readily lol. -
A bit pedantic i know but "any resemblance of cold"? have you actually been outside the last few days? the ice in our pond is a few inches thick!
