Is back building good for us or no?
Shows the storm can sustain itself & doesn't just collapse. It's good.

Can’t help but crack up that the first strike happened literally metres off of the east coast
A new AcCas field has developed to my W/NW as members have already said, there’s a few more hours to go. And notwithstanding the fact much of any action is forecast to be elevated, it is very warm and humid out!
It for sure doesn't feel like May outside that's for sure.

Nearing 23°C here in Herne Bay this morning. Could hit 27/28°C before the day is gone! Might be enough to trigger a small storm.

Do we declaretoday as a no show for thunderstorms? All development has seemed to just stop as the trough got closer , maybe the trough is cutting all the development off
Still the potential for a few SB-based storms later on but for the majority it looks to be a no show.

looks like cumulus congestus but one is growing really fast
Not a mature storm though sadly. Haven't seen any lightning mate.

I have a giant cumulusnimbus forming in the distance, it's very very tall peaking over the cloud tops of the thinner cloud
Pics?

Not entirely sure what category to put this in but I've put it here for now.
Does anyone have any pics of the Manston weather station? I can't seem to find any kind of pictures inside it, only satellite imagery.
Thanks.

Regarding that N Kent thundery shower, it must have had some positive strikes since one of them was a good 10 miles away and I could hear it rumbling away. Not really anything exciting though lol. Rain rates of 10.8mm/hr & 4.9 mm of rain from it all.

That cell near Eastbourne has done surprisingly well in my opinion. Better than that ‘Kent clipper’ earlier.

Not sure if that storm from the Channel will veer just to the East of me in Herne Bay. I’ll let you know the conditions if I get hit by it!

Quite a steady flow of flashes of lightning on one of the Brighton cams. Every 30 seconds or so.

Atmosphere seems pretty unstable. Considering a cell has fired off in London!

On the North Kent Coast so I'll let you know if I start to see anything regarding that Kent/Sussex clipper.

I'd presume this is the same one to my SW.
