As a heat hater, gotta say it's not been bad here at all thankfully, only 25 degrees here today in SE Sheffield and quite a lot of cloud coming in.

Appalling trash weather here today, gusty winds and sideways drizzle like a bad day in October.

I don't like warm nights inside. My west facing apartment bedroom gets warmest in the evening. Seems like there won't be much heat anyway next week. GFS has no more than 26°C in my area on Friday next week and that's it, just one day then thankfully.

Feels like a loooooooooooooong October this year with the morbidly intense overcast and frequent rain since early July going on and on without remitt. Not a complaint so much as an observation. Just doesn't seem like there's been a summer this year. Straight into Autumn after the two weeks of sun in June. Weird sensation. Bit like being a woodlouse hanging out under some soil or a rock.

Basis of this thread: This comes from a discussion on a foreign weather forum, where people are discussing whether British people find 25°C hot or not. So, it's a simple "yes" or "no" poll. This isn't about judging anybody or anything of that sort, a basic questionnaire so I can get as many answers as possible in the poll as I'm collecting data.

Showers coming towards Sheffield have started to die out. Are we just going to get a blunderstorm, and no thunderstorm?

Enjoying this July. No unpleasant hot weather and some refreshing light rain today. Been hot for sleeping this weekend though. I like indoor temps about 20°C in summer and 12-15°C in winter so I can sleep like a baby.

A thunderstorm came through SE Sheffield in the last hour, seemed a bit DOA at first, but over my location it suddenly gained a second wind and had some overhead thunder and a loud gunshot thunderclap when I was in the woods. But it didn't rain heavily despite this.

There's been no bad weather here this July. All normal British weather and exactly on average.

Surprised one of the biggest weather forums has no thread for end of month summaries, so I made one for all the summaries of the month. Anyway this is the data for SE Sheffield, June 2023 Max Temperature: 29.4°C (12th) Avg. Max Temp: 22.0°C Mean Temp: 16.9°C Avg. In SE Sheffield a cell arrived about 5:30PM, with moderate steady rain at first and regular thunder; then it went nuts just before 6PM with intense rainfall (200mm/hr instantaneous rainfall rates), and near white out conditions with swathes of rain blowing on the wind, and areas of water pooling on the ground outside. Lightning was often visible despite seeming to be mostly intra-cloud. This cell saw the rain rate start to subside only to get a new wind and get even heavier with brief hail stones. Then it lightened off and there was still moderate rain with intermittent visible lightning and louder sounding thunder but not as often. Then it died out into light rain for a while. This was the second overhead storm of the year and second on 18th June.

Most of Sheffield has still had zero measurable rain since May 11th - amazing statistic. Some SW areas got some rain from a storm but that missed most places.

Sheffield still in the club. Missed the storms from the other day, most of the area getting no measurable rainfall. The wait continues.... might be 2027 before the next one.

Only 21.7°C in my apartment. Nice and cool. I found the high of 28°C here in Sheffield quite tolerable. I am pretty fit but am surprised it was that warm - felt cooler to me.
