    Here in SE Sheffield; mostly sunny, and temperature of 17.6°C.

    Sunny today, but a very chilly NE wind here in SE Sheffield. Last night's min T, 8°C, max today, 17°C.

    The UK's summers are already cool by most any standard, and extremely cloudy in a global context. What more do some ppl want?

    Now the sun is going down the sun is just breaking through the clouds here as well. The usual summer pattern has set in.

    Takes a laughably long time to get 20 degrees in the UK... I'd expect it to happen at least by mid April every year.

    Spring 2013 and summer 2012. So the period of June 2012-May 2013 was utter pants from my POV. Not the same calendar year OK but still within a year period.

    Worst was 2013 by miles. March was just like a Scandinavian winter but most of all I remember the fact there were no leaves on the trees til late May where I lived, it was utterly depressing and just sad. Spring 2020 was fantastic.

    I just noticed that outside my apartment, the only place with snow still lying around the entire building is a spot localised exactly outside my bedroom window.

    I heard a lot about this all over the midlands and north, but living in Buxton, Derbs at the time, I remember absolutely nothing about it - and I sure would have done had it happened at my location, since that date is my birthday. I think it must have completely gone in a circle around NW Derbyshire. Remember absolutely nothing happening.

    Been the most depressing start to March I remember since 2018.

    It's OK if I'm not travelling anywhere at that time. If I'm not then I'd take a window from 20th December - mid January. Outside that, milder.
