Getting very close now,places just to the south of me look to be getting some decent snow.

Just started to snow properly here now in the last 10 mins,blowing past the lamp post at quite a rate of knots.

Evening all,had a few snow-grain showers through the day which has left the tiniest of dustings.
The radar looks impressive with the heavier showers edging north all the time.

They could be blue by the time i'm finished Latest netweather radar showing some convection down the eastern side already.

I was out at work early this morning and there was a few snow grains falling already,which bodes well for later on today when the very cold upper air reaches northern england.
Going out soon to play golf with the rest of the nutters.

Snowing here quite heavily at the moment with a strong wind,starting to lie on the grass.

Thanks for those links Mr Data,i especially like this paragraph from the second link:
"Pronounced weakenings of the NH wintertime stratospheric polar vortex tend to be followed by episodes of anomalously low surface air temperatures and increased frequency of occurrence of extreme cold events throughout densely populated regions such as eastern North America, northern Europe, and eastern Asia that persist for ~2 months."

Light/moderate snow here at the moment which has left a light covering.

Had some sleet here first thing this morning and a brief period of snow this afternoon before it cleared away.
Currently dry with a ground frost.

Current conditions: moderate snow falling. :o

Had some light snow this evening that gave no more than a dusting.
Looks like carlisle is hogging most of the snow as usual. <_<

A covering of snow here this morning from some showers that fell in the early hours,no more than a couple of cm but very nice to see. :lol:

There has been an hour's worth of very light snow here leaving a light covering.

The rain turned to snow here at about 3pm and has been going ever since.
No more than a 2cm covering as it has never really been heavy.
Should be a picture postcard scene in the morning. B)

Had a snow shower here this morning,fairly wet snow but froze as it hit the ground creating a fair bit of ice.
Very frosty here at the moment.

Today was the snowiest day here for a couple of years with just over 5 inches of snow in total,along with some drifting which has been sorely lacking in recent winters.
The snow began in the early hours and continued till lunchtime when it turned to light rain and then died out.

Another morning,another covering of snow
Had a fairly heavy snow shower yesterday evening and also one in the early hours which has left about a 2cm covering.

Yet another dusting of snow here in the early hours of the morning,also had a few light sleety showers through the day.
Its turned frosty and icy here in the last hour.

Had some light snow showers very early this morning which left a dusting on the frosty ground.
Further showers of sleety snow through the day,currently clear here now and frosty,the perfect base for more snow. :lol:

Wintry showers here today,hail sleet and snow all thrown in and even reports of thunder and lightning. <_<
Still a light dusting on the grass here at the moment.

Had some snow in the early hours which turned to ice pellets and sleet.Ended up with about 1cm of snow and ice lying which made the roads very nasty first thing.

Had a couple of snow showers this morning between 7.30 and 8.30 which left a dusting,and also a couple of flurries later on in the morning.

Had a few snow and hail showers between 7.30 and 9.00 this morning which left a temporary dusting on the grass.
I have a feeling the snow report section is going to be busy over the next few weeks.
