Thunder heard 3.55 then very heavy rain and wind, but has now eased considerably.
That'll be the cell I've been watching for an hour just passed Ashford

Do you think it will be the same, worse or better than forecasted for the south east
I have no clue would need one of the smart weather people On here to tell us that

Forecast or observations? If obs then this could be really serious for us in the SW.
Forecast for now, idk how to see live wind maps

Of course we won’t se that in the southeast. Not yet atkesst
Dony want to see that but @Roger J Smithseems to think south east is going to get destroyed later

Interesting comparison

You confirmed it !! Actually dead centre is just off the point of land between Cornwall and Devon, what's that called?
Winds won't suddenly rise to enormous speeds over Cornwall and Devon after low passes, expect N 30-50 then NNW backing to WNW 50-70 (km/hr, to sunrise and WNW to NW 70-110 sunrise to noon, the strong winds are rotating around to slam into southeast England). This low is linked back to the old parent low and it's an axis of weaker winds extending NW that is being dragged along for the ride towards Somerset and Dorset, same general idea.
Slam southeast ;-; sir what do you mean , I like My home and like I said on slight breezy days locally It's fine but at my house it's a kission to open and shut the door hwxause it's always more windy here due to the field , but I do think it's going to hit deeper into south east as it keeps rotating north and south east at rhe same time

What's satellite looking like where it is, that's the strongest rainfall out of the whole storm so far

what comes to mind, also the structure of the cell out at sea from me is beautiful
Where he said in the text I quoted about a wind shift worst case scenario

1 minute ago, Thunders said:
Yeah the wind has changed completely it feels. I don’t think the storm has moved much further east either.
One thing comes to mind .... eeeee
36 minutes ago, Roger J Smith said:This all reminds me of the well-known Jan 1978 "Cleveland superstorm" or Great Lakes blizzard, a very deep low (954 mbs) passed through the area where I lived at the time (near Toronto), did considerable damage to infrastructure including taking down large hydro-electric towers near London Ontario, as well as blowing an A/C unit off a roof into my parking space at work, luckily neither I nor the car were in said space but would be five minutes afterwards; all of that happened during a frontal passage and windshift as the superstorm rotated violently. Today's event is gliding along at an angle that could prevent a worst case scenario of organized frontal windshift in southeast England, if that does begin to develop, all bets are off about highest wind gusts.

To your question field is all of south west and south east, wind is blowing against trhw House can hear the creaking, and massive tress behind my house , and on days with a slight gust in other areas. here it's a struggle to open the door and close it so I think we are in for a beating from how exposed we are with 2 miles of field
So what do you recon with all the environment I described gusts that is , eager to know
2 minutes ago, Kirkcaldy Weather said:Re the Jersey supercell and likely tornado this is classic of the east and southeast quadrant with cyclones, hurricanes etc all carry the same characteristics.
'Tornadoes (and waterspouts) are very common with landfalling hurricanes and are predominantly in the right-front quadrant
Tornadoes as well as water spouts usually occur with most landfalling hurricanes and mainly develop in the right-front quadrant.
Breakdown: Why the right side of a hurricane is the strongest
WWW.ACTIONNEWS5.COM
All sides of a hurricane can be dangerous but the right side tends to be the most dangerous and the strongestWe see the supercell ingredients being very supportive for the development in that region this evening
I do hope we don't get a tornado in the south east gusts are fine , no tornado please All though two miles of field would be great for a picture with one !

Really strong gusts south east currently, tail end hitting us unlike models showing it further away, heavy rain too
