  1. Beautiful, sunny bright and crisp this morning, rooves were white over with frost. Stood at the back door watching a lone blue tit peck at a neighbours nut feeder until the poor little thing got dive bombed by two fat pigeons. Temp then was 1°. Expecting the gritters out in force again tonight. Current temp reading 4°. I'm out in the car early tomorrow morning, hibernating ice scraper ready for some action.
  2. Gusting here too. Got blown home from work earlier, the wind stopped me dead in my tracks a couple of times, and l had a job walking in a straight line. Many wheelie bins strewn about, and a couple of Tesco carrier bags mid-flight. Managed to get home before the rain started. The rain radar looks very lively north of Bury at the moment.
  3. Breezy today, wouldn't say it was windy, there was no tree debris on the roads or pavements when l walked to work at 6.30am. However it is feeling colder, needed my gloves for the walk home. Dry at the moment.
  4. I too found it so irritating, I switched channels.
  5. Chin up, there's still a chance for snow, lots of it. Always look on the 'white' side of life.
  6. If you've got cloudless skies at the moment, take a look at the full moon, it's beautiful, also known as 'Wolf Moon' and 'The Moon after Yule'.
  7. I'm feeling pretty snow starved here in Cheshire, these pictures are beautiful and cheered me up, I'm still hopeful for some snow before the season is out. 'Always look on the white side of life'
  8. I agree with the comment of 'endless gloom' and named this season 'grimter' rather than winter. Current temp 3° according to my tablet app, and it feels like it too. I don't mind cold weather, and l am hopeful that we may see a good fall of snow before the season is over.
  9. Current temp reading 5° at the moment, a really pretty sunrise earlier, the clouds were illuminated in a pink glow with a pale blue background. Rain predicted for later. I wonder what temps parts of our region will reach today.
  10. Bit of a wind picked up earlier, now steady rainfall.
  11. Yes, 2018's 'Beast from the east ' can put another appearance in for me too. Happy new year.
  12. Wet, drizzly wet, it's foggy on the hills as l cannot see any cars headlights or tail lights as they wind up and down Old Buxton road.
  13. App temp reading 9°, l don't know if it reached double figures earlier as I've been in work . Very pleasant walk home in the bright sunshine, however it did feel quite chilly. I agree the weather for a while has been quite non descript, and we are missing a good flurry of snow.

    Wow, fantastic photo.
  15. Morning all. Dry at the moment, a bit cloudy but I can see blue sky, feeling mild, app temp reading 7°. Apparently tomorrow we will be in double figures. Had a drinks, cheese and quiz night last night, one of the questions was asking which month in 2018 was Britain covered in a blanket of snow as a result of 'the beast from the east'?. You are now probably mentally mumbling the answer to yourself. Been a pleasant Christmas, and I've no plans yet for New Years eve. Anybody making any unusual resolutions this year?
  16. Mild, grey Christmas morning, feeling warmer than the 7° on my temp app. Wishing you all a great Christmas, and those of you who have to go into work enjoy your festivities later.
  17. I'm going to eat a whole box of Black Magic, feel sick, give it half an hour, then start on the Matchmakers.
  18. Thought we may have had a bit of lightning too, however my app temp hasn't dropped all day, it's still at 4°, but then again I don't know how accurate it is. It's easing off now, I'm off out xmas present delivering.
  19. Just had a snow shower here in Macc, and looking to my east, in the Buxton direction the hills are white over. Must have a look at the Cat and Fiddle web cam. Sunny at the moment.
  20. Just experiencing the same here in Macc. Wind howling around the house, rain hitting the windows making quite a noise, spooked me for a moment.
  21. Been a few strikes between north majorca and menorca, did you see any distant action?
  22. I love lamppost watching. Waiting and waiting for the first snowflake to drift into the illuminated glow when there's a threat of a snow shower.
