  1. You are in a spectacular part of the world, seen your pics on all things Austria thread. By contrast, what is your weather like today? What are the temps like at the lowest altitudes? It's still glorious here today, garden thermometer now at 22°.
  2. Had 2 thunder storms this year, I eagerly await a third, then send it your way. If only l could.
  3. Absolutely stunning today, tablet temp 18° , garden thermometer 20°. Have today off work, so I'm forgetting the washing, ironing etc....... I'm going to enjoy some time in the garden, will be going for a power walk with daughter later, probably do one of our favourite walks around Alderley Edge, we know a few off the beaten track which are beautiful but a lot less popular. Have a great day yourselves.
  4. You made me laugh C.S. I thought I'd post this for clarification. Not often one gets to announce to the region that ones bush is bare.
  5. Really gusty yesterday, but it was a warm wind. Had 11 beautiful deep red blooms on my peony, got home from work yesterday and my bush was completely bare.
  6. Estofex have the south east of England highlighted for storms today. Storms later coming from north east France and Belgium may effect the Kent coast. Still all good to look out for. Sorry, but don't know how to post the link on my tablet. Enjoy your sky and radar watching. All quiet up north.
  7. Hi C.S. where did you find this temp reading? Is there another source of reliable info other than the METAR TAF. Thanks for your help.
  8. Some decent lightning on skyline webcam, lake como at the moment. Milan could be in with a shout later.
  9. Looking like any convective action will be too far south. Then again Thursday is a long way off regarding predicting storms, alot can change. Will be fantastic to get my 3rd storm this year though, been lucky so far. That's the beauty of thunder storms, there is always the element of surprise.
  10. Go for it if it all comes together, l think it is a case of nowcasting on the day and radar watching. Too far south/south east for daughter and I to go storm chasing. However I have been blessed with two storms already this year. Hope some members somewhere get a good fix before the week is out.
  11. This made me chuckle, thanks FBFB. ( are you suffering lockdown fatigue? LoL)
  12. Estofex have a slight lightning warning for the South West of the UK tomorrow.
  13. Finally just seen a flash and heard thunder from the cell over Leek. Constant rumbling. More flashes, ooof this will do for me.
  14. This is the very top of the Stoke cell, just visible looking south from my location.
  15. I'd love to jump in the car and watch this cell from Mow Cop, I have a walkable vantage point minutes away, but can't see anything until it reaches Congleton. Enjoy.
  16. Beginning to cool now, garden thermometer peaked at 24° earlier today, now reading 20°. My radio is picking alot more sferic activity up than shown on the radar map and blitzortung. Still have lots of cumulus growing in height, very impressive, but without any action, the cap in situ must be a devil to break through. Watching the Chester cell closely, where is all this lightning? My radio sounds like it's on steroids.
  17. Don't you have the Formby, Heswall shield, if I remember rightly.
  18. Radio picking up sferics, quite frequent suddenly, getting intense too.
  19. Got the a.m. radio on, low khz station, should pick up any sferics from the ppn north east of stoke if any.
  20. This is within a few minutes, towers going up quite quickly, bit of a shaving foam effect. They appear to be forming from the south, Congleton direction, but slowly moving south east. Garden thermometer 22°. Just love the anticipation and cloud watching.
  21. This is looking south east from Macclesfield, lots more behind it, but can't get it on shot, too built up.
  22. Just caught up with this thread, some absolutely fantastic pictures, thanks to all for posting them, feels like I've had a taste of your weather too.
  23. Just getting a few blobs of rain now from the cell that moved up from you. No, no lightning, the only sferics the radio is picking up is my washing machine, been listening to the white noise from it for 2 hours now, time to turn it off, daughter thinks I'm off my rocker.
  24. Just got back from a walk with daughter, Prestbury, Alderley Edge. Caught a brief shower which dried within minutes, since then we could feel the humidity and a slight heavy oppressive feel too. The air certainly feels heavy enough, like you, it's fingers crossed.
