North West Regional Discussion 3 June 2020 onwards
Rush2019 replied to damianslaw's topic in Regional
I totally agree about the extremes, I've unplugged my bedroom fan for the time being, and had my heating on for a short while today. The plants outside look like they have done two rounds with A.J. -

Flash of lightning and a decent crack of thunder just now overhead. Sky looking very dark to my east, Buxton way. -

Some structure of the storm as it moves away NE, it's not hanging about, quickly came and quickly went. -

Just had an absolute deluge, very quickly the storm clouds broke revealing some nice convective activity. -

Rumble of thunder just heard here in Macclesfield, seems to be from a north west direction. -

Hope the cider is nice and chilled and you have a great lightning show for your birthday. -
Stayed awake until about 3:15am, only saw faint orange glow NW. No stars visible N or S. I love clouds one minute and curse them the next.
-
Clear skies north and south in the early hours, saw faint, thin long threads of NLCs, Jupiter and Saturn bright and clear and saw Venus rising.

Saw some thin white threads from about 2:45am, until 3:30, took photos, but they are barely visible ( tablet camera) and not worth posting. Not a lot of cloud around at the moment, 4:25am and a lovely sunrise. Back in work next week 7am starts, so pre-sunrise watching for me will only be at weekends. Will enjoy all pics and videos posted instead.

Type insecam Trieste, on google, tap into the first option, 4 cameras appear, storm now visible in the bottom left one,Padriciano science block.

I found some other live cams for Caorle, sorry but can't do links, but here is how l found them. Google Hotel Montecarlo Caorle webcam, then go into Hotel Montecarlo, spiaggia di Ponente vista est . Another great view out to sea, also if you scroll down there are other live cams of Caorle too. Worth keeping a note of.

Thanks All Seasons, noticed the cam of the fishing port with sound in Caorle not available and the cam of Rio di Palazzo in Venice, the sound on that keeps buffering, never mind visuals only.

Not heard anything, but I've just been nattering on the phone. It's very ominous to the south east, very grey, I hope we get something from this a little more substantial than a near miss. -

Yes, the skies very dark immediately North, wonder if Manchester will cop for it. -
Caught this about 3.20am, apologies for the poor quality, the very tops had a rippling effect, like the pattern left behind on a beach when the tide has gone out, tablet camera did not do it justice at all.

Can I just ask anyone who can help, would this be an example of bifurcation? Or is a main cell spawning daughter cells something different? -

Sferics on the radio going absolutely nuts from the second Manchester cell North of Stockport. Hats off to you Manchester, if only l was 20 miles north. -

Sferics quite frequent on my radio, must be coming from that cell. -

Been exactly the same as you here in Macc, garden thermometer has crept up to 20° though, sat at 18° all morning. I'm surrounded by every single shade of grey known to man, the sun is doing it's best to break through. P.s. l had a big moth in my bedroom too last night, attracted to the light from my tablet, got on my nerves until the cat had it. -

Watched it earlier before it moved away from Macclesfield, saw about 7 IC's and 2 CC's . Sorry didn't see much of the structure, view was limited.
