  1. Evening. I'm 16 and a bit miles north of you, skies gone really dark to my south and south east, radar now looking very interesting indeed.
  2. A house in Macclesfield was struck in the very early hours and set afire, had to be put out by fire crews, as far as I know the occupants were ok. A property in nearby Prestbury also caught fire after it was struck too.
  3. This is the Northwich cell which is darkening skies to the west of Macclesfield. There's a long line of turreted ACcas to my east. There's clustered ACcas with darkening skies behind. There's development all around.
  4. Arome has been doing a good job this week in my opinion.
  5. This looks like the anvil top of the Wigan cell as viewed from the north west of Macclesfield, due to the milky skies it's not very detailed but you can make it out.
  6. Absolutely incredible, lightning still flashing followed by reasonably loud thunder as it exits NE, @The PIT it's over to you. Must try and sleep, up at 6 for work, and in the words of the great Chris Kamara ' unbelievable' jeff.
  7. I'm at a vantage point and have been here for a good hour, an amazing light show, cell just coming to the west of town. Strobe lightning, orange crawlers it's fantastic , not felt any convective wind yet. There's an eerie stillness at the moment, lightning getting brighter and thunder more audible than rolling booms. Got a go I'm missing it.
  8. I'm awkwardly half hanging out of my bedroom window watching the orange and white flashes from the cell near knutsford, saw just the one cg. Lovely low deep distant booms heard, been rumbling on for a little while.
  9. Lots of flashes to the west of town, I'm off out in the car to a vantage point, orange purple and pink flashes seen.
  10. Radio picking up quite a few sferics from the activity in Wales now, however the radio is far more active than what is appearing on lightning maps.
  11. Clear skies here a little while ago, ACas overhead and can just make out the build up behind it. Looks like it will skirt west of Macclesfield.
  12. Skies very quiet around Macclesfield at the moment, there's still the potential for storms to push up from the south of the region, keeping my eye on any development Stoke on Trent area. Saw this network of cirrus earlier.
  13. Unstable skies with signs of convection this morning, this is looking east, but cumulus are growing in all directions.
  14. Yes, I hope the reservoir doesn't get overwhelmed and Whaley stays safe. If that latest ukv run comes into fruition we are in for a stonker. I'll be radar and sky watching as soon as l finish work mid afternoon.
  15. Absolute cloudless sky in all directions, garden thermometer which has been in the shade all morning is 28°. Sadly I'm off to work in half an hour till 7p.m. Enjoy your day, it's summer for a few more hours.
  16. @Paul Sherman mentioned earlier it looks good for these areas, l didn't think it would look this good. Hope it holds off till mid afternoon after I've finished work.
  17. Looks like the mesosphere is beginning to warm up, as seen on the aim charts. Then it will be the southern hemispheres turn, although the viewings for there are not as good as ours in the Northern. It seems to abruptly come to an end due to the cloud cover night after night throughout most of July, my own viewings for july were few. I'll still keep an eye out for a little while, there may be that one last shout or two.
  18. Started off quite pleasant with sunny spells, dark grey skies now to the south, garden thermometer looks like it's going to max. At 17°.
  19. Lovely photos @karyo, I'm glad the weather is in your favour, been pleasant here, though a little on the cool side.
