Seems ok to me 50 pounds a day is decent. most companies only pay SSP which is way less
£50 a DAY is freeking amazing, SSP is just over £90 for an entire week!
EDIT: If we take that into hypothetical consideration as an actual wage working full time (38 hours over 5 days) that would work out at just over £6.30 an hour for sitting on your backside at home

Started to snow properly now. Still melting as soon as it touches the ground though.
Hopefully won't be too bad in the morning, have to get the bus and there's been no gritters gone passed the house all night, despite being on the bus route...

It's starting to snow, can see a smattering of flakes just starting to come down in front of the lamppost.
EDIT: And it stopped after 2 mins and insta' melted, Booooooooooo!

Where in Wales though that's the question.
Pink bits on the radar around Brecon Beacons, (nothing really surprising about that).

Good grief he really becomes more unhinged by the day . The WH is full of lunatics . With the latest paranoia apparently it’s a plot by the left and the media to trash the market .
He's as bad as the Iranian minister aka "Nothing to see here, it's all fake news and a personal attack on ME!!!111!!, now give me more money"

Looking at the radar, the bands are to both the north and south of the gap with nothing in between

I have a strange feeling that the Italy cases have their origin in Iran.
I was looking at population stats and 60% of the Muslim community there live in Northern Italy (mighty strong coincidence???), So there's probably a good chance that it was brought into Italy via people returning from visiting extended family/pilgrimage's
Iran's health minister was also showing symptoms (sweating/coughing) at a press conference a few days ago, which means he himself could have been exposed to it at most 2 weeks ago, and whoever he got it from would be again at most 2 weeks, so it'll have been in their country for at least a month, that's a lot of time for it to spread through extremely crowded (to the point where you can't even see the floor) cities/streets/holy-sites/homes, and a lot of time for those who unwittingly have it to visit family all round the globe

Is there a mortality rate for this virus yet?
Why the Coronavirus Seems to Hit Men Harder Than Women - The New York Times
WWW.NYTIMES.COMWomen mount stronger immune responses to infection, scientists say. And in China, men smoke in much greater numbers.QuoteThis week, the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention published the largest analysis of coronavirus cases to date. Although men and women have been infected in roughly equal numbers, researchers found, the death rate among men was 2.8 percent, compared with 1.7 percent among women.
They should have officially named it Manflu...

Lightning happening on the squall line

Another Squall line forming and heading in, Been watching the frontal cloud edge slowly creeping across the sky whilst doing the dishes. Looks black as pitch and nasty to boot.

Rain eased off for a time here, but absolutely hammering it down again and wind really picking up again, Hail mixed in with it too now.
Edit: Winds really picked up now, at least 40mph gusts maybe close to 50.
Can feel the house shaking, sometimes strong enough to rattle the wardrobe doors, and it's a brick semi so not exactly a flimsy house.

Just had another small and fast squall line come through, not much in the way of wind, but very intense rainfall, quickly flooded the road outside in less than a min.

The winds were bad during the ragged squall end but they REALLY intensified after the rain had passed for about 10 mins. One of the solar panels attached to a neighbours roof flew off during what felt like the biggest gust during that time o_O
-
Raggedy end of the squall line just hitting here now, piddling down a right ol'storm outside. For some reason the temps shooting up as well :s up to 12C now o_O

Just put the Porthcawl livestream on, and it's showing a windspeed of 48mph. Howling outside where I live too.
As the Australian I used to work with would say, "It's gettin' a mite blowie"

I think most people, if not confined with a case, will have no notion they are being infected as it will be 'self administered' via transfer from a hard surface to mouth/eyes/nose?
With the life expectancy of the virus outside of the host seeming to increase week on week then ,my best guess, is that the first UK wave will be from such transfers and not from folk sneezing/coughing in your face?
Be mindful what your hands are doing (don't go scratching/picking/rubbing areas that have mucus membranes?) and take sanitizer with you when you're out and about so you can 'clean up' after touching hard surfaces?
Unfortunately it's getting more and more common for people to cough openly rather than covering there mouth and the hand rails on the backs of the bus seats tend to be at head height when your sat down, not to mention the poles you hold onto to keep yourself steady. Lots of nice scuffed metal surfaces in a warm/moist environment.....
(Personally, I tend to cough/sneeze into my forearm/elbow area, you don't accidentally get anything on your hands and there'll be less of it getting into the air as most of the moisture droplets would get caught in the fabric of what your wearing, plus you have less chance of someone grabbing hold of you there and therefore less chance of passing anything on via someone else touching you),
