  1. Not a huge heat lover myself so absolutely not. I don’t think this country would be able to cope with upper 30s for weeks upon end. Dare I say why and the mods will be on my tail 25-30 degrees I am happy with. Anything above that - no thanks!
  2. No thunder but lots of dramatic looking skies here today
  3. Miraculously we’ve avoided the showers altogether today. They’ve all skirted around us so far.
  4. A day of sunshine and showers here - blue skies above but threatening, dark clouds in the distance.
  5. So there’s nothing showing on the rain radar but we’re currently having a torrential downpour, seemingly out of nowhere?
  6. Is it me or does anyone else feel like evenings are slowly drawing in? The sun is out but it has that orange autumnal look to it, at 6PM.
  7. Both Met Office and BBC Weather mention thundery showers on Saturday. What effect will the strong gusts have on these for any that do develop?
  8. I actually prefer this weather over it 30 degrees with the sun beating down all day. The cooler nights are welcome too. Last year was horrific with it being over 40 degrees in places, coupled with the humidity. Not one person I know benefitted from it, nor did they find it enjoyable. So glad we haven’t had any of that nonsense this year.
  9. I’m actually enjoying this weather - it’s a mix of everything. So far today, we’ve had clear blue skies, blustery winds and torrential downpours with some thunder mixed in. Temperatures have been respectable too. No heatwave but by no means cool either. Perfect.
  10. Just had a period of torrential rain. Some minor flash flooding in places, with a couple of rumbles of thunder too. It’s been quite an active week here.
  11. Just had a thunderstorm here in Leicester, which it left behind this
  12. I must say, it’s exceptionally quiet in here today. Is not much happening out there?
  13. Lots of heavy showers being shown on the latest M.O video forecast for tomorrow afternoon, for Wales, Somerset, The Midlands and South Yorkshire, heading NE. Whether these turn thundery is another matter. Once again the South, SE and East Anglia escaping most of the showers and staying mostly dry after an initial wet start.
  14. Looks like the SE will receive very little rain compared to everywhere else for the next few days.
  15. Just had another small storm here in Leicester. A few rumbles of thunder and some torrential rain.
  16. Looks like storms are now making their way NE into parts of the East Midlands, South Yorkshire and West Yorkshire, as well as parts of Lancashire. Feel sorry for people down South and in the far East, who have been storm starved this year.
  17. Nowadays it seems inland areas further north of the M4 seem to be in the sweet spot these days. What I’ve seen happen a lot this year is storms develop north of this line and then head NW, N or NE. I think it’s because these are surface based storms, developing over a wide mass of land, which the SE can’t benefit from for obvious reasons.
  18. Just had a pretty small thunderstorm over Leicester. Started off with distant rumbling with a few pink fork lightning strikes (wish I captured it!) Passed through pretty quickly though and now I think that’s it for us.
  19. Is that some developments I can see happening to the south of Leicester?
  20. Is this expected to intensify/develop into anything as it heads ever so slightly so N’NEwards?
  21. We’ve got blue skies and sunny spells here in Leicester now. Hopefully something will develop for us later on.
  22. Had about an hour or two of light rain, now it’s just drizzle with thick cloud. Doesn’t look like this cloud will clear anytime soon.
  23. It’s pretty odd with it being the start of July, but it feeling so cool. Here in Leeds, it’s raining and people are wearing their coats. Truly a stark contrast from last month!
