    The Met Office in this video mention the possibility of some ‘very lively thunderstorms’ for the weekend and into next week.

    Anyone else found that today despite it being warm outside, it hasn’t actually felt as hot and muggy inside compared to yesterday? My preferences for summer are warm by day, with a light breeze, with it cooling off nicely for night time. There’s nothing worse than it being unbearable hot and sticky all night.

    Surely a few days of showery weather isn’t a bad thing? It’s not like it’s forecast to be a washout, is it? If we carry on with very warm and settled weather right through to July, then there are going to be drought issues. A few days of cooler and more unsettled weather between prolonged settled spells isn’t a bad thing, as long as the former doesn’t end up dominating for weeks upon end.

    Looks like the East Midlands had more action today compared to central West Midlands. Looking at the radar it seems nothing more than light to moderate rain over Birmingham. The NW looks fairly active right now.

    Despite the main system now having passed Leicester, we’re still getting occasional rumbles of thunder every now and then.

    Similar scenes here in Leicester although cloud looks a bit thinner and we have that sort of hazy sun. Wondering how this will affect shower developments?

    You guys might be disappointed if you’re expecting wall to wall sunshine this weekend. My location has already changed from sunny spells all day to thundery showers. Though how widespread they will be is still unclear.

    I think I’ve seen around 5-10 minutes of sun today, with thick cloud cover and it still feeling cool. Today was supposed to be better than yesterday, however it’s pretty much been identical. What is it with the forecasts constantly underestimating the cloud coverage and longevity for this part of the country?
