Heavy snow in Chelmsford still 50p sized flakes. Starting to blow around as the windspeed increases. we have about 5". Off to pick up the kids!

Heavy snow in Chelmsford, but very small flakes currently. If the flakes get much bigger we it will be similar to earlier this morning. From the radar it seems that we may be in luck in a short while.

I thought that the netweather radar is supposed to update every fives minutes, there seems to be a 15 minute delay on my images? I am only subscribed this morning.

Things looking far more promising in central Essex at the current time. Just a very light dusting of snow overnight around midnight, which was disappointing. Currently we are covered by a fairly narrow band but the precipitation is quite heavy. We have around 2" of snow in the past 90 mins, which i think is a good total in anyone's book. Just checked the radar - newly subcribed to this morning and there appear to be more of the same for at least the next hour or so. Having said that the snowfall is lighter at the moment. Much happier! Best of luck to those that are still waiting for snow.

Heavy snow in Chelmsford currently. Some of the biggest flakes I have ever seen and I am forty and went to Lapland last year!! Off to school now to drop off the children. Happy days

I bloody hope so (excuse my french). I am just north of Chelmsford. Currently we have moderate snowfall with 10p sized flakes. Looks like some considerably heavier snow just to East and heading directly for us, probably when I take the children to school!! S

Well in preparation for this weeks freeze I tried to buy some salt grit from B&Q today. When I asked whether they had any, the answer was no. "Oh so you have sold old?" "Well we did have some but the council bought it all". Doesn't bode well if the council (Essex) are buying from from a high street retailer!?
