Snow in Chelmsford seems to have increased in intensity in the last 5 mins, now quite heavy.

Moderate snow now in Chelmsford and the wind seems to have picked up.

Ok I was just about to go to bed but will stay up for a while longer in the hope of an immenient pasting?!

I can hear thunder to the N/NE of Chelmsford.

Essex has 1 hill and that is Danbury! I think it is abount 200m asl. I have always wanted to live there, not just becuase they have more snow in winter!!

Ah but Danbury in on top of a hill. Downtown Chelmsford has about 1" to 1.5"

I think you need to get your ruler out mate. Just walked 2.5 miles from Chelmsford to home and max is about 1.5 inches?! Might be 4" by breakfast time? Simon

Nothing to speak of in Chelmsford yet, just the odd flake. Alhtough as I type it is suddenly setting to get dark and now light snow falling. Could this be the start of something good? Simon

Steve, Any chance of an update, from my basic understanding it looks like it is going to cold or very cold for the foreseable future (which is what you would expect for Lapland!), what I really want to know is what are the prospects for significant snowfall this week. From what I can see there is a threat of snow for much of this week particularly Tuesday and Wednesday, with low pressure dominating for much of this week. There is only generally a few inches of snow lying where we are off to so some more snow is desperately needed. Cheers Simon

Please can somebody point in the direction of the charts for precipitation, as I am desperate to see whether there is going to be any snow forthcoming from the colder weather that is beginning to set in. Thanks Simon

Help, I have booked holiday to Lapland (LEVI) for a week on 6th Dec. Just checked the cams this morning and I am panicking as it is raining. Is anyone able to provide an insight into the weather (for Finland) than can be expected in the next 7 to 10 days and hopefully provide with some reassurance.
