  1. I'll go first: oon2 steve de4 1 wibs 3 kelly f2 mondy 3 In no particular order... DS
  2. And that, for me, is the biggest compliment I could ever hope to receive! Of course, if this is true then I could always try this one (this is not an entry, just me being cheeky - and not a little bit cocky!): Ailsa the Golden Eagle, from the same workshop as the Snowy Owl (whose name is Aspen). DS
  3. Who me or the owl? Thanks Paul - I enjoyed taking them and would recommend the trip to anyone
  4. Thanks Smich (I'll assume you actually meant to praise the photographer!! ) DS
  5. Why thankyou Louby (and you John!) If you want to see more check out my album here Enjoy! DS
  6. My three entries all come from a weekend spent in Glenfeshie near Aviemore in the Cairngorms. Gorgeous weather and superb scenery - what more could you ask for? The opportunity to photograph some wonderful birds as well, that's what! My first, however, is a lovely morning view over Loch an Eilean: My next is an flight shot of a Snowy Owl: My final effort is an attempt to pander to the landscape afficianadoes whilst at the same time pandering to my own wildlife bent at the same time: A true Monarch of the Glen perhaps? And for those wondering, they were captive bred birds and my holiday was a photographic workshop - I would be very lucky indeed to find a wild Snowy Owl in the Cairngorms! DS Edited for spelling
  7. We had one day of laying snow here in London and I was at work the whole time; so I didn't get any snowy shots. Instead, my second for the month is this ultra colourful beastie chomping on mealworms...
  8. LOL That got me thinking - a speech bubble with "You looking at me?" in it would be fun.. DS
  9. OK - here's number one.... How do you tell a squirrel that you've run out of nuts?! DS
  10. I believe they're White Ibises (should that be Ibii!?) although I'm sure I'll be corrected if I'm wrong! DS PS Thanks for the compliment btw!
  11. Time for my second, Taken on Sunday when the Sun came out - how appropriate! DS
  12. Steering away from the astronomy theme I thought I'd make my first post for this month a bird (well there's a change!) We had four of these little beauties on the feeder at the same time this afternoon! In case anyone doesn't know it's a long-tailed tit.. DS
  13. Well, the light has been so poor down here - we've just had the first glimpse of sun for over a week this morning. I managed to catch this fella as he was eyeing up our new bird feeding station - he hasn't come down yet.... My third and final entry for this month: DS
  14. Oh come on - this is a weather site; surely they're clouds with legs! DS
  15. Here's my second one for this month - a lucky shaft of sunlight... DS
  16. Alphabetically: blackie2 coffee23 1 mct 1 rustynailer 3 Slinky 3 DS
  17. Here's my first one for this month - not a squirrel in site you may be pleased to know (at least not yet). Taken at the London Wetlands Centre on a crisp Saturday afternoon: Don't ask me what it is - I couldn't find a picture of it on the information board! Hopefully more wildlife stuff to come... DS
  18. OK - explanation time. Yesterday I posted a picture of a squirrel that looked OK to me from where I was sitting. Then I looked at it from my work monitor and it looked way over exposed. It turns out that my home monitor is beginning to show its age and isn't as bright as it used to be (happens to all of us eventually). I have therefore deleted that post and am reposting the same image before I over-exposed it in post processing. I hope this is OK.. DS
  19. I couldn't resist this one, the light was that good today - Autumn can be a very bright season... DS
  20. My votes, no order: boon 1 phil b 2 HD 1 zoeholmes 2 potsy 1 DS

I just sat on the ground, threw a few almonds around and waited:
  23. Well done Wibs - easily the best photo IMHO. I just had such bad timing with my "cute" pics. Oh well - maybe in December when I've got my new lenses.... DS
