35kts gusts and sideways rain, throughly unpleasant evening on the Wolds, feet up in front of the log burner looks the best plan.

A lot of standing water on the local roads in the Bridlington area, places that don't usually flood, also the 'Gypsy race' has over topped between Boynton & Rudston flooding the surrounding fields a sign the local water table is high.

Agree completely. I find that most of the BBC presenters are annoying in one form or another. Currently my worst 2 are Darren Bett, mild lover and Louise Lear who I believe gets dressed in the dark!
What has LL dress sense got to do with it

I made a prediction a few months ago that Christmas would be notably mild and dry, it's looking like that could actually happen

Just driven back from Driffield on part of the main road that goes to Scarborough, it is horrendous, rivers of brown water running off the fields in various spots nr Langtoft, will catch a few out i fear this evening, worst I've seen that road in a long time....

It wasn't swept away easily though, the cold stayed in place even while the uppers warmed, hence the freezing rainany got. It warmed after that though, but what happened to the real cold in the north east, scandi, not much yet, also part of the UK are still cold, and temps in many places are not cold enough for snow granted, but still chilly, and likely to stay that way till Friday.ย
Thanks for clearing that up...

The whole episode this evening and today has been extremely poorly forecastedโฆ some peeps and organisations need to look at themselvesโฆ the blatantly obvious Yey go with dry and no snow forecasts.., met have done themselves no goodโฆ especially with warnings/peak & Lake District forecastsโฆ even their evening updates
And you hadn't prepared sausage rolls, #disappointed...
