I can understand people moaning a little bit. Wonderful synoptics but some of us are really mainly interested in whether we get snow.
Norwich has had a little snow recently so I won't throw toys out my pram, however it is frustrating to see us missing out. We were slap bang in the middle of 2 great dumpings just before Christmas and we have missed out agin this morning when a couple of days ago we looked to be in a prime location. I believe we were due to have some snow overnight tonight and tomorrow and now I hear reports that this is less likely.
Still at least we have the building blocks in place and the biggest snowfalls I have witnessed in recent years haven't been forecast.
I am pleased for those areas that get snow, I'd just like to be invited to the party!

Personally I have found it to be much better than raintoday.(Easier to use faster and very accurate.
Certainly worth £4 for the month in my eyes.

Just running the radar over the last hour and if I hadn't seen a forecast it would look like it was heading south and east. When is this supposed to stop the current trajectory towards SE/East Anglia?
Thanks.

Looking at the latest GFS precipitation charts it shows Norfolk to get precipitation from 9am Wednesday until 9am Friday Then starts again on Saturday. During this time large portions of East Anglia look set to be prime targets. We may miss the first salvo, however have patience in this set up and I think we will all be rewarded here.
Things are very different this year in that its not a 24 hr toppler, it's a proper cold spell!
On a side note I just bought a subscription to the NW radar. It's miles better than the free ones I@ve been using!

Who turned out the lights? Any idea what happened then?
I used the time to look at the BBC24 and Sky forecasts........ shoot. They don't look good for Norwich and Norfolk/ East-east anglia.
Still 50p and a pickled egg says the track won't be nailed until tomorrow morning.

I think there is still potential for any of us to get a good dumping in the next 24 hours. There is model disagreement even at this stage.Admittedly its squeaky bum time for many (Me included here in Norwich) but come tomorrow some who aren't expecting any snow will be beaming and some who are will be gutted.
Choose your lampost, cross everything.
Good luck!

My dad just texted me that about an inch of snow has fallen this evening in Rollesby nr Gt Yarmouth. (Where i was last night!)
I am back in Norwich tonight, I wonder if we'll get lucky here? I am looking at the radar but it looks like pot luck as to whetehr we get a direct hit or not.

Looks as though we all got something, I assume you usually have the same problem as me, too close to the coast for consistent snow. My granddaughter is loving it!! looks great out there today, time for the boots I think.
Living here usually means that we get snow when it isn't forecast. And when it is forecast we get nowt!
I'll be off outside in the snow with my son shortly for a big snowball fight!!!
Have a great day!

Wonderful snowy scene to wake up to on my Birthday. (In Rollesby nr Gt Yarmouth)
Best night of snow so far for us, Norwich got pasted too!
I think we definitely had around 2 inches to top up the little we already had.
Thankyou snow fairy!
-
Lovely pictures so far from many of you, thanks.
Very jealous over here in Norwich although we have had some snow so I won't complain......well not too much anyway.
Anyone fancy telling me what they think Norwichs chances of more snow this morning are? Radar has shown clouds swerving norwich so my confidence is a ltlle low.
Jealous Jon - Norwich.

At UEA Norwich there has been some fine, wet sleety snow- it looks and feels like rain, but grassy surfaces are coated in snowflakes (and no, I'm not confusing it with the frost we had this morning- the whitening of the grass has definitely spread substantially since the precipitation began).
I am in Thorpe on the eastern outskirts of the city and so far it's no snow.
-
Feels a bit too warm in Norwich, so unless we get a decent shower it looks like drizzle for us. Not even snizzle!
Still could all change and theres always thursday/friday. I am just a bit nervous after last years no snow show.
-
I alternate from living in Norwich to near Gt Yarmouth.
While I am confident one of these locations will see some snow falling I still have the memories of previous let downs.
Just need a little luck though and we COULD have something memorable! (Such a fine line between that and failure though)

Lovely snow in Norwich, settling on cars but not roads really.
May still be a degree to warm.
But............... after becoming increasingly disillusioned with things I have just spent 20 minutes watching it fall by a streetlight.
The magic dancing white specks are what got me into model watching and I had forgotten just how breathtaking it is!
-
Sleety rain here in Norwich, the city that snow forgot.
Loads of water around on the roads, not nice driving conditions at the moment.
-
I don't think Norwich will be getting Snow at least not until the low has moved past us. It seems the esat of Norfolk has just been too warm this year. Still I don't think there are many actual forecasters out there who would like to put money on where the snow will fall today/tonight so there is always hope.
I'll have my pessimists hat on and not expect any snow, i will just twitch the curtains a few times this evening.... just in case.

A rain and snow mix has arrived at last!
However it the band of precipitation has dwindled so much it doesn't look like lasting long at all.
Awwwwwwwww shazzbutt.

Has Paul said when he will be posting his thoughts on why some areas have missed out on snow?
This cold snap has literally had the snow either stopping or tunring to rain about 10 miles from here everytime. The only time we seem to get significant snow is when the models don't support it.
(I guess this should have been in the whingers thread, sorry.)
-
Nothing here in Norwich by the look of it. Main band looks to be fragmenting on the Met Office Radar.
I hope we done't miss out again, as this winter has been quite poor so far in this neck of the woods.
-
Norwich and some of Norfolk seems to have been abandoned by this particular cold spell.
Some snow which hasn't layed, some sleet and snizzle but nothing anywhere near what lots of the country have had.
Maybe we will get our turn later.
-
I think here in Norwich we have our fingers crossed we don't end up with Sleet.
Feels cold though and current showers of snow bode well, I wish there was a radar to see this balsted warm sector thingy.
-
Tipping it down now!!!!!!!!!!!1 <_<

Snowing here by the coast now, no covering yet but looks promising.

Hi TWS, that sounds promising! There seems to be a lot of snow showers out to the east between Norfolk/Suffolk and Holland. Is that currently heading east and therefore likely to hit Norfolk/Suffolk ? Norwich in particular?
Just noticed it has started snowing here again, very light though and really doesn't want to settle on the roads.(It does settle everywhere else though)
