  1. I grew up in Radlett :-). No snow in Biggin Hill :-(.....hopeful though!
  2. Beautiful morning has now turned into a very wet afternoon here...feel so sad for the people affected by the flooding; I love extreme weather, however, not the devastation it brings to some.
  3. Beautiful here too. As much as I love the summer (well, you know when it's warm and sunny!), I think I prefer the autumn and winter for the beauty...many more wonderful sunrises, smells and colours. Would have preferred to have a proper summer though and then bring on the decent winter ;-)
  4. Good morning Well after a glorious start to the day here in Biggin Hill, there are now huge black clouds. Heard one roll of thunder. Would love a really good storm though. Have a good day all!
  5. I apologise, no offence intended... Still snowing in Biggin Hill too...perfect!
  6. Good evening! Ground covered; over an inch on top of recent snow and will be tricky in the morning.Thought it was easing off, however, seems heavier now. Wondering about Bromley as work there, however, not on a Friday, so not a huge concern. This, I have to say is a lovely 'top up', now off to see what the MetO have to say!
  7. you really don't want to be on the back streets of Croydon though, whatever the weather Seriously slowing down here, however, have a decent covering on top what we had which is great. Just pepped up again as I type. Wondering if the teachers might fancy starting half term a day early?
  8. Cloud now looks to be rolling in over Biggin Hill. Chilly old walk with the dog at about 4pm, car temp read -2, really felt it today.
  9. I think the problem (well certainly for me), is that we had such a fantastic winter last year, nothing can compete with it... so it will be disappointment all the way . Saying that, I'm loving the wintriness at the moment and love the 'promise' that this final month of winter is bringing! Let's be positive and enjoy what we get.....then we can start thinking about the sweltering summer we're bound to have
  10. Really big flakes....had to stand outside to get my fix, settled on some of the wood.
  11. There are a few flakes here in Biggin Hill at the moment (thought I'd switch the outside lights on, but didn't expect anything)!
  12. 3.5 here in Biggin Hill.....would so like a bit of the white stuff; love the frenzy it brings to the forum too :winky:
  13. I loved the build up to this, all the forecasting / nowcasting, looking at charts and the 'banter'....who cares if it wasn't the greatest storm ever, at least it brought lots of people who are intersted in the weather together and come on guys, it's only mid September, plenty more to come including the snow
  14. Biggin Hill had a few flurries today, some fairly intense, however, only lasting for a couple of minutes. Hoping for something more tonight?? Was totally shocked yesterday morning....let the cats out at 6am and it was damp and pretty miserable (I know, I'm a fool), then up at 8am to get the girls up, opened the curtains and wonderful, brilliant white snow...just would like one more 'event' and then I'll be happy with looking forward to Spring
  15. Evening all We've had snow here pretty much all day, along with a very slow thaw...all very odd (still feeding the very hungry birds). To be honest, and even after watching all the forecasts I have no idea what to expect tomorrow. Biggin Hill really does seem to have it's own little system going on lol! :unknw Scrat :-)
  16. Snowing on and off here in Biggin Hill, doesn't look like a thaw here, at the moment anyway!
  17. Hi guys A couple of pictures for you - really enjoying this winter! Pictures were taken in Tatsfield, near to where I live in Biggin Hill. We've seen quite a bit more snow this afternoon, luckily have all provisions now. Let's see what tonight holds
