  1. Could well end up being another Feb 2012 if we don't get another cold spell at the end of the month.
  2. JFF but P20 rly going for it on this one. Overall, the GEFS 12Z looks much better than the 06. Let's not give up just yet
  3. Up to the 8th Feb, winter 2020/21 has been great and it’s not over yet with the coldest weather yet to come. January was very good in terms of snow and cold here. December also decent with 2 good snowfalls and a frosty Christmas period. I forget how much of a contrast it is to last winter, which we all remember was one of the worst. This time last year we were all under the grips of Storm Ciara. One year later, an easterly
  4. ECM 12Z forecasting lows under -10 in the south. Granted if we get clear skies, slack winds and snow cover it’s possible.
  5. A nice cluster of very cold uppers showing up on the 18Z GEFS suite continuing the cold spell. Something to keep an eye on perhaps.
  6. I'd suspect a lot of wobbles with the models, just how it went last week with the current easterly. But one thing I can say is we're not in a bad position whatsoever
  7. Surely that’s not right. If it were then it well could be the Coldest February since 1991, for London anyways
  8. Feel like the snow only benefited the SE. Here in Manchester, all we got was snow flurries. Nothing like the 2018 BFTE where we got continuous snow for 4 days piling up to 12cm at the end. We got more snow in January this year.
  9. Your prediction of 1.9c may not be far off if the cold lingers around until the 3rd week. As for the next few days, it looks very cold in the CET zone and the outlook is anticyclonic which raises the possibility of more night frosts.
  10. Right, the ensembles are still keeping it cold up to the 18th and quite dry too. OP looks like an outlier in Fl
  11. The chart is showing a channel low with a easterly wind. Basically a lot of snow
  12. With blowing snow and the sun it does definitely feel like winter. Windchill is very notable too
  13. Because of the lack of snow I assume. Personally I feel like, let the cold in first and worry about the prospect of any snowfall later on, considering how sporadic it can be
  14. MetO is forecasting snow for the whole day tomorrow in Manchester, hoping this doesn't suddenly change.
  15. There certainly is support across the models to keep it cold, daily maxes don't look above freezing in many places for 10 days at least, and minima could be especially low. I'd take a hard guess and say sub 1c is a possibility to the 20th
  16. Thats incredible! Also incredible that we are currently amidst in quite a cold spell right now, 30 years later
  17. For me it looks colder than the 18Z. This is all speculation tho, things can change.
  18. I'd be quite scared if that came to fruition We could be on the cusp of a lengthy cold spell here looking at all the models! Feb 1991 maybe paying a visit on the 30 year anniversary. Or 1986, even better.
  19. Manchester will be bone dry and the temperatures are a bit underwhelming considering the 850hpa temps. On the bright side, MetO is now forecasting snow on Tuesday, could be one of those streamers!
  20. JFF but P24 is what we want! Proper scandi high and 850s below -15 for much of England
