  1. Hey guys, looks like a better start this morning. I have some stuff to drop off at our solicitors. Can anyone update on road conditions up Stanley way? Need to travel from Whickham to Durham, usually go to Stanley and down into Durham that way.
  2. Too far north for me. I need them to dip under the Tyne ideally. Not like being selfish or anything . The heavy stuff has dropped off the MetOffice for my area now. Hopefully they haven't a clue but they've been bang on within 24 hours for every other day this week.
  3. I was thinking that. They look a lot further apart than when they were hammering Scotland and Northumberland too. Early days though.
  4. They can be shaped like a phallus for all I care, as long as they're girthy and produce plenty of white stuff... I'll get my coat (pun intended)
  5. I got shot down on Saturday night, Sunday night and on Monday for saying I was disappointed and that I didn't expect much. It's coming, it's coming I was told. To be fair, it looks like it might have been but was snatched away at every opportunity.
  6. There has been murmurs about the Scottish stuff spinning around and heading down our way but i'm not holding out hope. Similar things have been said all week. It's always seemed so near yet so far away from us.
  7. we've just had a bit of that here too. Wife made me do the school run as she doesn't like driving in it. It was over as quick as it started but looks like a bit further south (ie you) should have had it longer.
  8. Northumberland have had it good over the past 24 hours, as have North Yorkshire, so my money is on one of those two places.
  9. For a laugh, scroll back on the radar to 13:25. That is what it feels like here! My auntie in Belford has confirmed they have quite a bit but not as much as Wooler.
  10. So there seems to be fairly good agreement that it WILL pay a visit, just when is up for debate. Fingers crossed we can go out with a big bang, because the last 3 days have been disappointing to say the least.
  11. I'm just at the other side of Burnopfield in Whickham and, other than 1 day where it melted at night, we have had very little worthwhile (sledging or snowman worthy) lying snow. We normally do fairly well being over 500ft but not this year sadly. That extra elevation has helped you and Stanley / Consett scrape a bit more.
  12. Oh, Yes please! I used to live in Catchgate (Low Church Street). Don't think I seen one notable snowfall and I lived there September 2013 - March 2014.
  13. I know i'm being negative and this is IMBY but those streamers again look to be placed ideally for Northumberland and Teeside, with little to nothing for Tyne & Wear & Co Durham. With regard to new warning, yep no showers at all forecast for Whickham or Stanley on their own website Thurs-Fri.
  14. There certainly seems to be some girth to the showers in teeside and Northumberland. Just need to get them into the middle
  15. I have everything crossed. I've promised my son a day on his new sledge and he bloody well will get it, even if I drag him round on the road! Currently the North East seems to be doing fairly well Berwick to Morpeth, and to some extent Teeside. Us in the middle are struggling.
  16. A question for the wise ones. Any chance of us getting showers the likes of Edinburgh and surrounding areas have currently?
  17. It's only weather? The bairns pesky sledge cost £9 but its the mental toll too. 'is it snowing yet?' can we go sledging tomorrow? Why is there not enough snow for sledging, you said there would be?
