  1. "Looking at the airmass the low pressure system develops a region of much more marginal air over our region, probably why those forecasts have rain/sleet in the lighter stuff...need that low to develop further east, very possible still!"

Here we are sitting in these sub zero temps and the low with it's chance of snow has the audacity to bring in marginal air - whatever next, someone will be promising us a snowfest in 4 days time next!

  2. I'm starting to get bored by this model discussion. Snow in 4 days. 4 days later, oh no snow in 3 days don't worry. 3 days later still no snow. It seems that the whole of the country just received some kind of precipitation except for me and similar areas. Can please someone just tell me when i should suspect to see some snow or will it still be 4 days away?

know the feeling, it's always just out of reach...but i'm still hooked and hopeful

  3. Back garden temps ar 0.6C wth 88% humidity which seems to me like the dewpoint is just the right side of snow so we now have a light covering of which has pleased me immensly as I took a cab home from the pub. Am not sure this is going to continue as the radar looks a little lightweight but who knows, certainly nice to see the black slush at the edge of the road covered with white again for a while

  4. Just spent an hour or so driving around the nearest hilly places to find some evidence of snow, or catch a shower or two, but just nothing out there. Clear skies everywhere. Tantalising distant views of the snowy hills of Kent but just a bit too far to drive. Bit disappointed really as it's back to work in a basement tomorrow. Those nearby showers on the radar must be just missing me wherever i go :yahoo:

  5. At 4.40am there was a strange long but loud rumble, like a lorry or plane. This was followed 5 or so mins later by a blinding flash, just one, I was standing in the dark in my bathroom with the curtains open, but not looking out of the window and it was like someone had taken a flash photo right in front of my eyes. This was followed by one enormous crack of thunder, then heavy rain.
