Goodness me, it is hard to keep up on here with the amount of posts. I guess that is why we split when there is an event.
If I quote anyone, I'm then taken to the latest page and Iose my place! Even as I type this I can see another 14+ replies I'll miss when I click submit
Temp and dew at -1.2c in the garden, but the small amount of laying snow is deceptive, it is the sort that melts and goes brown as soon as you step on it.

Might be time to delete weather apps they are rubbish at predicting the weather in future I shall just look out of the window .
Sadly my met office app has been right. Delayed onset and light snow. I am curious as to how the met office update the app, it changes so often at the moment, is there a person sitting in Exeter doing it manually based on the radar

It is just a shame we didn't all wake up to lying snow as being a Sunday many more people would get to go out and enjoy it. If we get heavy snow on a Monday or Tuesday, not as many people can take advantage.

Bit of a let down, tiny flakes blowing in the wind and the main band of heavy precipitation looking very narrow.
The met office app looked correct when I went to sleep. No snow until 8am then light patchy snow all day.
Update, opened the blind now and it's a little heavier. App now says it will ease off this morning and get heavier for a while this afternoon.
Let"s see what happens...

Disappointed to wake up at 5am to plus temps and pouring rain

Chicken stir fry, white wine and a long wait to see snow in my newly named floodlight - Alexa turn "Lamp post" on! Looking more like an early morning than a late night - the midnight snow has moved to 4am

Just out on the downs - looking forward to it resembling the Alps tomorrow hopefully!
Seen a few people dusting off sledges in their open garages
Our local bike shop sold 50 sledges today. My three haven't seen action for quite a while so fingers crossed!

I've just been out and bought a garden floodlight so I can lamppost watch from the back room, otherwise I get up and down every few minutes to look out the front!

Shame that all that rain on Saturday isn't snow, we'd be buried

It was bought to celebrate the next decent snowfall
Oh, and just turned 50.
I've got a half bottle of real champagne I've been saving for a special occasion

OK, was trying not to get excited but i think the time has come to let the butterflies loose. The sledges that we optimistically brought down from the loft for last Sunday week are still in the corner of the living room as the next cold snap was nudging into view. There wasn't quite enough snow for me to bother on the last event, but I feel a bit more hopeful this time. I should be skiing in the Dolomites this week but sledging in Coulsdon will have to do instead!

It's looking pretty good under the lamppost but not making any impression on the ground. I really must go to bed, is been an emotional day!

A couple of hours fun up at Riddlesdown building snowmen and dreaming of skiing. Now back home for hot soup

Looks like that's our lot in Wallington. Finally got out the door and it's stopped. My sister forced me to do our tax returns during the blizzardy bit

Bug flakes just started in Wallington...
Or even big flakes

Just had a graupel shower. Stopped now
Same here, just a little taster I hope. Not quite ready to go out yet.

Sky ominously dark out the back to my west, nearly sunny out the front to the east. Loving the anticipation

I once walked up the hill at priory park and it was sleeting at the bottom and snow was settling at the top!
I've had that on ski trips, always loved the way you can get a lift at the bottom in the rain and watch it turn to snow as you go up

My temp and dew point are rising fast, only -0.5 now. It might be rain at this rate!

The met office app seems to change every half hour. Currently for Wallington, it is showing one snowflake for 3 hours, then another last hurrah at 10pm. Might leave the sledge in the loft
-
It was a beautiful and quite warm in the sunshine in New Haw earlier, but feels rather cold now I am back in Wallington. Temp 5c and dropping fast, dew point just below freezing, Met office showing one sleet symbol at 3pm on Sunday for me - yipee! I feel slightly more hopeful than that - the clouds out there at the moment could easily produce a little snow shower.

I remember doing that when i was about 10 which was in 1978! It was practically accumulating faster than I could shovel - very exciting:)
