  1. I see after many weeks the Met Office have finally ditched the predicted cold spell and sounds like average weather to see out the remainder of Feb.
  2. Now looking like a one day cold snap for most of the country on Thursday with rain and snow for some, the far south may not even turn cold until next week now.
  3. Very little winter cheer on the models this morning, rain/snow on Thursday before a chilly high moves in next week, might even be the odd frost if we’re lucky!!
  4. Yesterday temperatures were looking like 4 and 5 degrees for the end of next week, now into double figures for the same time period…..
  5. Looks promising for the North moving forward, less so for the midlands and south, double digits temps for the foreseeable.
  6. The mild charts always come off as the Atlantic is our default weather pattern!
  7. I don’t know why people suddenly think this rain/snow on Tuesday/Wednesday is suddenly going to jump 100 miles north?! It’s now 48 hours away and the models have pretty much cross model agreement that it’s going to cause very little impact to the UK, wishful thinking from a few on this site.
  8. Met office warnings now out until Thursday and none for the south so they see no risk of snow down here.
  9. Still looking like a cold and snowless spell for most people in the week ahead, but look at the temperatures starting to show for next week! Would feel “spring like” in any sunshine and no sign of the wintery weather returning soon.
  10. Well the models have firmed up on a cold week but by this this time next week some parts of the south could be into double digits. Snow chances look at a premium, but maybe a few surprises down the road. As always looking at models 10 days in advance has proven fruitless.
  11. I think you are seeing what you want to see, no widespread snow on the charts.
  12. So the models this morning have disposed of any significant snowfall next week as the midweek low resides somewhere over the middle of France. The Atlantic awakens next weekend so will be a short lived fairly standard wintery week for most if the latest models are to be believed.
  13. The apps are good for spotting trends and are useful despite what some people may think!
  14. Every time I post anything in the model thread that could be loosely considered pro mild it gets hidden or moved! Crazy forum that one!
  15. Looking like a very short lived or even non existent cold snap for the south now.
  16. The writing has been on the wall for the south for a few days and after the next couple of coldish days, looks chilly and average for the weekend and possibly turning much milder next week.
  17. The next 2 to 3 days look the coldest for the south in the reliable time frame, just looks standard winter fare, even some double figure temperatures creeping in on some models at ten days time!
  18. Agreed, probably Midlands north would be the hotspot as the milder weather is never too far away from the South from next weekend onwards.
  19. The last update mentions heavy rain and milder interludes in the south, so that would suggest the cold will either not get that far south or won’t last long. Which the models are reflecting this morning.
  20. I would say the Met updates have trended milder for the south, mentions of “heavy rain” and milder interludes. These words weren’t present a couple of days ago.
  21. I know a lot of “weatherists” is that a word?! Don’t like them, but has shown next weeks short dip in temperatures for a while now, and equally a rise back start of next week.
