AROME suggesting 30-50mm of rain falling through a large swathe of SE/Eastern areas by the afternoon.

Uncertainty on track of the downpours/storms for the morning. Some models have it further west, some further east. SE still main area but will be a nowcast so all eyes on radars. Downpours likely to cause flash flooding with most lightning on the eastern flank of the system.

Some flashy bangs possible quite widely between Mon-Wed as the heatwave breaks down. Usual hit & miss nature applies with the added threat of flash floods due to run-off from the significantly dry grounds.⛈

Should mention that while showers/storms would be great they won't do much regarding the drought. There's of course the usual hit & miss nature of them but also with the ground being so dry there will be a significant run-off which would cause further issues of their own.

In all seriousness there are some early indications of a possible thundery breakdown next weekend as LP moves in. Too far for any details but will keep monitoring through the week.⛈
