  1. Extend that down to NE Essex, not breached 30 degrees this spell, not been too humid, in fact rather pleasant but no extremes. Last night's storm passed by peripherally, saw a little lightning and heard thunder in the distance, a little rain. Today it's grey and pleasantly warm, maybe one momentary glimmer of sun. Only extreme is the dryness, with no useful rain for 3 weeks, no significant rain for much longer than that.
  2. A pleasant and not too sticky 26.7 here in the Essex/Suffolk borders, with a Northerly breeze. Lovely spell of summery weather, but not really a heatwave yet. 26.7 is the warmest temp of the year here, so far.
  3. Roads around colchester are fine, we've had about 3 inches of level snow I guess, but very little settled on the roads. Some of the country lanes are less clear. Although it is snow quite heavily at the moment. Best to check again later in the day.
  4. Not really in Colchester, further north and East. We have snow but just not as much as I would have hoped given the synoptics. Snow has only been light here and would love to see snow like I remember in the past; a real snowstorm.
  5. Only a very minor event here on the east Essex Suffolk border so far. Maybe more to come, but from the reports in the London and SE thread a much bigger event in the south and West of the region, which must be a surprise. Wish we could have snow like Feb 1991, and Jan 1987 then I wouldn't have to struggle to work tomorrow.
  6. On Essex Suffolk border 15 miles from coast. Only 2cms or so, only light snow for last 30 mins. Not quite in whoohoo territory.
  7. Needs to do something, only had light snow and maybe a 1cm, and definitely melting so far up here.
  8. Still light snow, probably just over 1cm, but definitely some melting, still see green grass. Fairly meh here.
  9. It was only temporary, a brief glimpse of the sun, then back to grey. Slightly heavier snow now, but some way to go before it gets to moderate.
  10. Light powdery snow since 10.30, still less than a centimetre of accumulation, sky is brightening a little; a lull on the way. Just north of Colchester.
  11. Well as is typical, the snow now is heavier than anything we got here yesterday, which is inverse to the forecasts. Slightly too mild for any significant accumulations currently. However, it does show that where snow is concerned, you can only be sure what it will be when it is falling on your head.
  12. Light snow just north of Colchester for the last 25 minutes, starting to cover surfaces.
  13. Nobody knows yet, Thursday evening there should be more of a clue. Accumulations are difficult to forecast this far ahead - it would be guessing.
  14. Off topic-ish, but as it is regional-ish I thought others may enjoy this. I will warn that it isn't very politically correct and there is written swearing. But it is most amusing when compared with these threads on snow days
  15. Looking a the IR Satellite loop, brighter (thicker) looking cloudbase approaching from the east, heavier snizzle maybe.
  16. Yes, I never said that my typing was any good. Well done for noticing! Although, in truth, it is only a partial quote and I am loathe to use an ellipsis.
