  1. Looks like that large slow blob has my name on it.
  2. More manly blob producing much more manly flakes LOL! My blood sugar must be low, getting giddy....
  3. Unfortunately, I am right under a blob and only a few wispy flakes. Passing to the east of Colchester at the mo'. Temps falling now at -0.4c
  4. Oh, the North Sea does appear to be more active than of late.
  5. Go to the top of the forum page far right, in the dark blue bar with your username in it, at the right of that bar is a drop down arrow, click it, then in the menu that pops up, choose Manage Ignored Users. I hope there isn't a limit tho', because I have a lot of entries in there. I do wish people would stop quoting some people, because I still end up reading their posts.
  6. But while there are some who believe this thread is about providing an accurate forecast (which it is not), rather than just discussing potential scenarios and outcomes, it has often seemed a particularly unfriendly and disrespectful place at times. I sometimes curse the facebook generation and the lack of manners and respect these days, especially online; it is too anonymous. And, I am only 43. Sorry off-topic, but it needs to be said. Back to the models.
  7. I think from looking at the radar, the distribution of the heaviest precipitation will mostly be away from most of the east coastal areas of Norfolk, Suffolk and Northern Essex, because of the circular flow. Western areas of suffolk and essex, W & N Norfolk, Cambs and Herts may see more in the next couple of hours. But maybe as the low track further south the distribution will change. Now to decide whether to go to work.
  8. Just what I was thinking. Winds are too light for a start.
  9. Moderate to heavy snow in NE Essex. Roads are completely covered now - they were clear at 5.30 this morning. Temps up a smidge in the last hour to -5.5c LOL!
  10. energy dropping in the band off the N Sea, looks like less falling snow will be likely. EDIT: i did mean here...:smiliz19:
  11. Ok thaw has stopped, and snow falling again. Temps risen to 0c and dewpoint fallen to -1.5c
  12. Despite being still below freezing here with sub-zero dew-points, a quick thaw happening here. Doesn't make too much sense, but what does these days? Wish that activity in the North Sea would move in a bit quicker, rather than waiting for the bus.
  13. Heavy powder snow here in NE Essex, north of Colchester. Closing in on an inch since 6am. Now make that heavy big fat flakes.
  14. Is is not typical, that just as one is preparing to go to work, it begins to snow, bearing in mind there was not a flake overnight. Not a lot admittedly maybe 1cm here in last 40 mins. So the question is do you struggle in, knowing what may come later in the day, meaning probably a struggle home in a few hours. This is what I call stupid snow. Enough to keep a snow lover interested, but not enough to make the "Go to work?" decision easy. Stupid Snow. (mini-rantette over)
  15. It will still be free, but will only show precipitation - not what type of precipitation.
  16. n24 forecast has just said, and I quote "a few showers" for Wednesday - gesturing towards the SE. No wonder Joe Public has no faith, that's 3 differently detailed forecasts from the Beeb in the last 20 minutes (one being Tomasz's overramp on youtube)
  17. Don't envy you either, but legally, if one clears the public path outside of one's house of snow and ice and then someone has a fall or hurts themselves on what remains, the person who clears the path is potentially liable for legal recompense; meaning you can be sued by the person who falls. There were big debates about this in past severe winters. Some councils will recommend that you do nothing to public paths. However, I do not know of any actual cases of this.
  18. temps up again here. Up, down, up, down, up - blah blah blah. Hurry up cold........
  19. temps and dew points rising a fraction here again, both now around the 2c mark.
