TJS1998Tom I’m thinking I’ll set an alarm, check radar and decide if it’s worth going somewhere for

I don’t usually edit a video this quick but I just want to get it out the way before I go back to uni. Lightning died out when it approached but the structure made up for it. Unfortunately I didn’t turn my iso up enough so the shelf is a bit too dark

It was a poor month from a nice weather standpoint but it was quite convective which gave it some merit in my opinion. I remember quite a few instances of thunder and hailstorms, especially on the 11th when that storm moved through Yorkshire in the evening. Weirdly that storm came after a relatively cool day, just shows it doesn’t need to be warm to have big thunderstorms.

Had a small storm here, south of Doncaster. Couple rumbles but some insane mammatus. I’ll have to share photos later to get them off my camera. Decent first storm though.

Finally finished compiling footage from last summer. Weak little storm from August and then the night time stuff from September.
Not a bad convective year to be honest. Let’s hope for more bangers in 2024!

40c in Doncaster during July 2022. I’ve experienced mid 30s in Croatia and France before, but it felt so bizarre being that hot in Yorkshire.

I may as well jump on the train of video posting. This is just a compilation of storms from June and July, they’re all a bit tame apart from July 8th but my brother recorded it instead because I was away.
I’ve got some time from uni at the moment so I’m cooking up 2 more videos.

Best squall of the year here, haven't seen white out rain and hail like that for a few years with the added bones of thunder and lightning. All depends on if you hit the sweet spot or if you find yourself in a gap I suppose.
Definitely have to be lucky with them, fizzled to a fart up here when it went over. To get lightning is definitely a plus as winter squalls usually aren’t conducive.

Been a very interesting end to the year with all the country wide convective activity, thunderstorms and tornadoes.

Just reading YouTube comments on the news coverage of the Manchester tornado will actually lower your iq. People screaming ‘this isn’t a tornado’ and ‘weather manipulation’, like just do a bit of research mate!

It’s quite faint but it’s definitely lightning, my first time seeing it in December.
