At least ukv and arome showing similar areas getting storms so that may be some consistency, mostly Lincolnshire and parts of Yorkshire

Another push west from this evenings 21z UKv @ 0100z Sunday morning
If things continue as they have been, we're gonna need a boat to have any chance of seeing a storm
it’s going to be anyone’s guess so it’ll just come down to radar watching

I’ll join in here, I usually love warm humid weather, because it makes me feel like I’m holiday. But ever since working at a garden centre in a greenhouse, it is starting to take the mick. Drenched in sweat within minutes, drinking litres and litres of water and I’m not even going to the toilet, just sweating it away.

09 ukv could be a lively morning for me. Hoping for some decent action out of this warm spell, might well be the last opportunity of the year.

very similar with me around 1655-about 1710, the most hailstones I have seen for a long time. Certainly got tops to what the Doncaster predicted ascent suggested
Yeah they were probably the biggest I’ve seen for a long while. The storm itself was very small, barely a few miles across, but a surprising amount of thunder and lightning.

Direct hit! Lots of hail, constant thunder for time and literally just formed above me

God I love being in the cursed met office warning area

Anyone else having issues with Blitzortung?
would be nice if it didn’t keep crashing when on days where there is the potential for convective activity
Yep

I’m skeptical of the western extent but if any do occur in Lincolnshire I may be able to see some lightning to my east

That puts Lincolnshire in a nice spot, makes me debate if it comes off whether to stay up late and risk a tiring day at work or sleep in and wake up early hmm
It wouldn't surprise me if it mostly ends up being thundery rain with the odd rumble
I have a similar conundrum. I start work at 9, ukv currently shows the mass of thundery rain around 3/4am so it’ll be a bit of a struggle at work.

Very well done explanation and a good read. Hopefully nothing like that happens in near future, because as much as we like storms, severe damage and loss of life obviously isn’t good.
I saw this video recently on this event which was an interesting watch.- 2

Lol I haven’t seen it yet. “When the wind blows” was tough enough for me but I do want to see it one day
‘When the wind’ blows gave me nightmares as a kid

I get most weather apps struggle with forecasting thunderstorms, but sometimes they’re so wrong it’s laughable.

My Mum turns 58 on Saturday and looks like it will barely scrape 13C. Must be the coldest birthday she's ever had. Dreadful stuff.
My dad turns 56 on Saturday and I feel very sorry for him as we’ve got some outdoor activities booked.

I think my location has had like 9 days of thunder so far and we’re not even in august yet. Prob one of the best years for a while.
I understand other places especially the south coast haven’t much but perhaps mid-late august and into autumn (like last year) might give some surprises
