Still not February

There is genuinely never a time where we should be thankful to avoid a dumping of snow, maybe if you live on a mountain in Austria, but for us? Nope, never.
True, but I am trying to be positive.

As Junie says in Only Fools and Horses;
"It just don't get goin' Del".

Yep, as I just posted in the mod thread! Please ignore ALL phone apps and the likes of the BBC forecast. This front is very unlikely to make it to the Midlands, certainly Birmingham.
Its an all south event.
Been in this scenario 1 too many times to know once it goes south, it won’t head north again.
Aww that's a shame but I guess at least someone will get it. We may be thankful we don't get a dumping.

Oh, il neige!
Just been to shut the chickens up. Wet snow, moderate fall rate. The first East Midlands snow which has fallen on me.
Happy bunny!

What part of Notts are you? I am between Leics and Notts city centres and on the boundary between the 2 counties.

Wow. I am north of you between Leics and Notts. Heavy rain here.

WOO HOO!!!
Still dry, hahaha!

No ppn either solid or liquid here. Bloomin' cold though.
-
Some birds are going to roost but others still manically feeding and singing here. When all goes quiet then I know something is on its way!

Actually i guessed mine not to sure what it is. How do you check?.
Interwebbage. Put post code in an elevation above sea level.

Starting to see snowflakes.
Oh ye of little faith!
I got my elevation wrong, we are actually 84m above sea level.

Light liquid ppn. Sun trying to break through.

70m is useless if places around you are higher
town centre Stafford is 81m, useless as Cannock is 140m, Stoke 180m, Telf 165m, kinda why I see cars with lots of snow on
To be fair, I was only 60m in Epsom, (home before my last one), and we only got a good dumping if it was an Easterly as The Downs stopping the NW and W flow. Many a time I can home from the OH, who was in Reigate, with it snowing and laying. Literally turn from Tattenham Corner onto the Downs, and the snow stopped.

Well MetO has us on course for rain. I should have put a bet on!

I would like to echo the previous posts and thank you all for such explanatory posts. Never give up.

Yeah I just don't feel it. We needed an Easterly!

Certainly often seems to be the case. No doubt London will see a good dumping, again. Funny how they see far more snow now I no longer live there.
Same here!

I think it could be touch and go. I'm quite close to you in Melton so we'll have to see!
Yep we definitely needed an Easterly for this to pull off something good.
