  1. I bought this for my partner in 2011/12. We never settled in our previous house and he never used it. I know its not the most amazing weather station, but I wondered if it were still worth using?

We feel more settled here and he wants to set it up. Does anyone know about this WS? Whether there are software updates?

Would be grateful of any advice.

Same here. I'm in Melton and we rarely seem to get a good dumping (although last year was good). Here's hoping though!

Teachers will be rubbing their hands together at the prospect of a snow day!

It's my first year up here. I was down south last year and our corner of Surrey was the only place not to get heavy snow. Just a light covering. We did get the frozen rain which was extremely interesting to watch though.

  3. I am not convinced it will fall as much snow, if any, this far East. According to friends who live in Loughborough it generally fizzles out before it gets there, so being the other side of it I may miss out. Shame we didn't get that Easterly.

  4. I don't understand these models very much but am learning from reading these threads. I don't want to take the thread off track by asking too many questions.

Last winter I was in Surrey and the Beast gave us nothing but a sprinkling. I have moved to the East Midlands. From what I am interpreting, and I am probably wrong, but am I still in the wrong area for possible snow? Is it more westerly?

  5. A cold and showery day here in Leicestershire, made bleaker by the sad news here today. Not a football fan but in the few short months I have been here I realise how passionate and proud the people of Leicestershire are of LCFC the Foxes.

Yeah you should have gales in the early hours, we have them here just north of Birmingham now and the storm is supposed to get deeper as it crosses the country.

Thanks for that. Wind and rain really picked up here. No thunder as yet.

I am probably a bit strange. I have got a top window open and the noise of the wind and rain is almost comforting. I lived in a second, (top), floor flat for 40 years with my mum. You could hear weather against the roof and windows. My boyfriend and I moved to Charlwood in 2012. The house wasn't really one you could hear the weather in, if you get what I mean. This house we are currently in is brilliant for hearing rain and wind.

    Sorry for waffling on.

  7. Woke in the night feeling hot to find it very mizzly here East of Loughborough.

Brightening up a bit with sun trying to poke through and feeling muggy. Oregon weather clock reading 20.3 degrees C in the bedroom. And it seems we have been upgraded to be in the path of storm Helene.

  8. Just cloudy here. Cool but I personally am happy with that.

The trees have started to turn early. Noticeable lack of flowers on a lot of plants this summer too.

I suspect winter won't be so bad up here this year. Shame I missed it. I may never see a winter like that again, up here.
