The area above Guernsey and also the one near Cherbourg seem to be building up... Could this be a start to a wave of thunderstorms? The Met Office seem to be liking the idea of a wave of storms pushing North/Northeast...
I hope I get some activity in Hampshire in the next few days. I've been dying to see another storm!
Edit: Thought I was looking at the radar for Today/tomorrow when i wasn't. Oops!

What's the black line mean?
Sorry for my late reply.
This is what the black line means:
SEVERITY:
We classify a severe thunderstorm as one that poses a significant threat to life and/or property, using the criteria below. If any of the following criteria are forecast, a SVR threat level may be issued to highlight the areas at risk of severe convective weather. This does not necessarily mean severe convective weather will occur in all parts of the highlighted area, but it indicates the potential for such an occurrence, even if quite localised.

I'm in the moderate zone, so i'll keep an eye on it.
Looks like my day for a good storm would be either tomorrow or Thursday.

The convective forecast is up. Reading between the lines it sounds like a forgettable day of thundery rain

I can't wait for this week!
The risks for me seem quite high - Up to 77% on the Netweather forecast for Monday night.
I'm hoping that Monday afternoon/evening will be my time after not seeing a 'proper' thunderstorm for ages! I hope it doesn't spill too late into the night though, i really need to get some more sleep.
Anyway, hoping the best for other storm watchers out there over the next week or so, maybe the last major storm week of 2022?

Starting to clear up over here at Battle, with just very light rain.
I've still got a bit of hope left as the Met Office says that heavy rain will build in the English Channel around 9/10 am and will push to East Kent.
Looking forward to browsing social media the next few days - It'll be interesting to see what others saw!

I'm so jealous! It looks like everyone got a storm, but here in Battle/Bexhill absolutely nothing but a few distant flashes.
Glad most of you fellow storm-spotters got a show though.

Hey Netweather Community, I haven't been active on this platform in a while. I'm currently on holiday - Just next to Battle and I've been tracking this storm all day yesterday and last night. It was on a perfect collision course but now in Brighton
I'm just watching distant flashes. Not very exciting.
I do have some hope for later on for some potential storms forming later on in the morning for the area around Battle/Hastings, as the Met Office and Weather Channel think that it'll build up over the channel and hit by 11.
So far though been a huge flop for me. Hopefully, some others are getting a good storm?

Storm in Northern France is really strong at the moment. On lightningmaps.org, the lightning indicators are pooping up everywhere! Hopefully it will only continue to strengthen as it comes to the UK later (maybe).

Good morning storm lovers
What a decent evening we ended up having in the end, with much more in the way of lightning than I was ever expecting!
It is also lovely to wake up to thundery looking skies here this morning, even though I should be catching up on sleep so I will be fresh for tonights action
Here are some other shots I managed to capture but was too tired upload in the early hours
Ps.. don't don't give up on getting something out of this event, many on here yesterday were writing off last night's chances (maybe even myself at one point)
But luckily I'm a bit crazy when it comes to storms, with even the slightest whiff of one being enough to have me sitting for hours waiting, until one pop up

PHOTOS.APP.GOO.GLThose are some incredible pictures and an amazing time-lapse! I wish I was more towards the sea so I could see that in real time, but nevermind! Glad you got some action!

Hoping for some activity to track throughout this morning/afternoon - There looks like a bit of a storm is developing above Caen, France. Hopefully all these newer storms survive the channel so they can put on a show of lightning!

Starting to see some proper bolts or lightning now this could get very interesting!
I'm still waiting. I can only start seeing the lightning once it gets past the top of the isle of wight. Been waiting for some time and nothing yet, but not giving up here!

Thanks for everyone's nice messages. I'm still yet to see anything looking south, but as soon as i do I will update! To me, there look to be 2 cells 'following each other' in my direction... Maybe that will create something interesting.
-
After seeing how these cells have brewed up over the channel, I knew I was going to pull an all-nighter! It's just started raining here, and I have high hopes for some lightning at 3.
Also, i'm new here, so hi everyone.

I'm guessing that the Cherbourg storm is heading towards the direction of Bognor Regis - Unless it develops over the channel and pushes further north... Typically, Bognor Regis is just outside of my viewing area!
I'm getting convinced that one of my neighbours has a bottle of 'thunderstorm repellent' somewhere...
