  1. I'm actually kind of digging the uncertainty. I much prefer a sniff of something special than a guarantee of something mediocre
  2. No height but plenty of instability from what I can see
  3. Bromley. I'm not too excited about the big area of rain that is incoming but the stuff behind it looks interesting...
  4. Just had a dirty long rumble. And yes it happened this time
  5. SHOTGUN THUNDER HEARD IN BROMLEY JUST NOW! ...not really
  6. Granted there's not been much activity in South London but I've been really pleased with the cloudscapes this summer
  7. The system that's growing in Dartford unsurprisingly has some nice structure to it. From what I could see
  8. With the two low pressure systems merging tomorrow I do wonder if there will be any DLS available and what speed it will be. I guess we're missing cold air aloft. Maybe someone can guide me in the right direction as I don't know much about this stuff...
  9. Surely the next one should be called Storm Shirley...
  10. It seems to have split north and (far) south of Leeds. I guess someone has to get the rain part. I would have thought that Pennines would have worked their magic
  11. Actually... Looking pretty sensual down in Beddington, South London. Still humid too
  12. From looking at the radar I feel as if the instability has gone for the entire eastern 50% of Great Britain. I've noticed that the French storms heading to the South East have been dying as they cross the channel. Does anyone know if we are expecting any more action tonight?
  13. Not had anything today in Bromley but the clouds have been indicative of an unstable atmosphere: I don't think we were supposed to get excited about the AM stuff. I'm hoping that Nodrog will film the post-frontal stuff this evening. Edit: Cloud cover is a bit of a concern though. Currently the whole of GB is grey
  14. I'm really sad about Convective Weather, those forecasts have been there for me since I started getting into storms and were kind of cosy. I do hope Dan will still pop on here from time to time with his take on things at least
  15. On the early hours of July the 1st between 1996 and probably 1998 I remember drawing the bathroom curtains (not in the art sense) only to greeted by a surprise flash of lightning. Bit of a brown trousers moment (again not literally). Spent the rest of the storm listening to music on headphones (Mansun) with my head under the covers and my eyes shut. Could still see the lightning, it was that bright. Now I stare at precip shafts thinking "come on, just one will do. Right in the middle please"
  16. It's a stretch but I'm going to say I called it! Yay for UKV
  17. I don't really understand the models but this one below looks good right? Granted it's not a good location for me but I see discrete blobs of precipitation at 3pm prime time
  18. I'm currently here near Bridlington. Probably will miss it if I try to intercept...
  19. So I'm in Grantham at the moment. Heading north but not sure exactly where to go, hopefully won't miss out...
  20. Me too. All the way from London! I'll head in the direction of Hull first I think and see what happens...
