Snowing in Sevenoaks
-
-
The snow today here has been much wetter than 14-17 days ago (todays snow reminds me of Jan 2017). Settled on cars and grass, but not pavements and roads. The radar doesn't look great for me (Sevenoaks area) overnight, although my fingers are tightly crossed.

It’s sleeting / snowing but it’s definitely not settling anywhere, the precipitation isn’t heavy enough
-
Snow has now stopped, but for me it was the best snow of the period. The snow wasn’t as powdery dry, plus with good cloud cover, there wasn’t any sunshine melting the snow that had fallen, plus there was very little wind.
-
Looking at the models and trends, plus SSW, I’m fairly confident of more snow later in the month, although nothing like this spell of weather.

Very heavy snow on the outskirts of Sevenoaks.

chucking it down here. beautiful scenes. Best cloud cover of the cold period.

We've had another 3-4 cm's of snow this afternoon - It's been quite heavy at times too and it's still snowing!!
-
Just started to sleet here.

Judging by the new snow on the car roof and bonnet, I reckon we had 1-2 cm of snow overnight. Conditions now are a wintry mix of rain and sleet, albeit more rain.

I am on Jnc 5 of the M25 just north of Sevenoaks, we have had moderate snow for the past hour, so I suspect Biggin is getting it too..
Star Hill or Chevening?

A definite shift that it is losing intensity and moving North Westwards.Still going J5 Westwards of M25 getting a covering, those to the East will miss out.Maybe tomorrow morning will be another chance for Southern England but lets get tonight out the way first.
I live 5 mins walk from junction 5 on M25, and we currently have snizzle.

Sleet?
@stevemurr - it's snizzle, not sleet - it's definitely precipitation though, that isn't rain. It's still falling but starting to lose it's intensity after gaining some momentum for 5 mins or so.

Snizzle
Yes, it's snizzle, although the flakes are slowly getting bigger and falling quicker.

Sleet?
Yes, tiny sleet here, if that's the correct description.

Very light sleet here near Sevenoaks. Gradually gaining intensity.

Heavy snow on the outskirts of Sevenoaks!

No snow here on the outskirts of Sevenoaks, although we were lucky overnight and fingers crossed for tomorrow.

Snow is melting in the strong sun. Drip, drip. Needs some cloud cover.

First time since the 80’s that I remember seeing icicles.
