I stand corrected. Is Sevenoaks high up? @SnowBorder
According to the met office website, Sevenoaks is 145 metres above sea level.

Snow settling here in Sevenoaks.

Heavy sleet here now

Yesterday morning was the same - heavy rain before the snow arrived. Fingers crossed.

Its to do with the column of air from cloud base to the ground & how deep the melt layer is...
Steve - Do you think there maybe any snow shower so south of the Thames?

I’m hoping that North West Kent gets to see a few flakes, similar to last week. There would need to be a massive push south of the low for us to see snow settling.
-
Snowing heavily here, starting to settle on the grass and garden furniture.
-
A snow flurry here in the weak sunshine.

Heavy sleet here, if there is such a thing!

We have sleet / light snow here.

A quick scan of the models for next week, tells me that I can move the sledge from the front of the shed to the back, and replace it with the barbecue. Wednesday is 13 degrees and sunny.
Fingers tightly crossed for a late Feb / early March freeze.

I'd be amazed if I saw any falling snow today or tomorrow. It looks and feels too marginal. In fact, it doesn't even feel that cold, just dampness in the air. All very disappointing.
-
Haven't even got drizzle here.
-
We have very fine & light snow here, which is only visible when wearing my glasses. No need to wax the sledge just yet, unfortunately!

UKMO has been the best performing model this winter, IMO, although the ECM and GFS solutions can't be discounted. The 18oz has also out performed the other GFS solutions. Still much too play for re cold, even if this mornings runs are a step backwards.

8.2 c here and sunny. Feels mild compared to recent days.

Looked at all of the models today, and based on their performance so far this winter, I think, unfortunately, that I can only trust the UKMO.
ECM looks great at + 96, but I think it will dilute nearer the time, similar to the other models.
Genuinely surprised the UKMO is not the best performing mode now.

Not the most inspiring morning and a disappointment not to wake up to front edge snow, even though it was always unlikely.
Theres still plenty of winter left. Looking at the models, the remainder of January looks a write off, but February can often deliver decent snow e.g. 1991 and 2009.

It's snowing and settling, but there's also still a lot of drip, drip, drip. If the snow continues to be this heavy, plus the forecasted temperature does fall to zero by 12pm, I think we may see 5 cm.
