  1. Do we ever get to name a storm? I thought that the Irish or French named them and we borrowed it.
  2. Covers half the country but only 15% of the population.
  3. That must be local to Scotland, as are most snow events. Nothing down here in March 2006.
  4. I think you meant this country's pathetic winter weather.
  5. Agree regarding the BBC forecasts. I missed the lunchtime forecast yesterday but the previous Sunday's forecast for the week was embarrassing with the lack of detail.
  6. Understand where you are coming from although we did get about 1 inch in December. Have to face facts and accept that we live in a poor area for snow. 7. Where do we get the snow depth charts from please? I know they are pure rubbish but I need some hope to cling to!
  8. That's my thoughts too. Just goes to illustrate the complete dumbing down of the BBC Sunday lunchtime forecast. It used to be the go to and eagerly awaited forecast, now sadly treated as an irritant by the BBC. I'm sure they'd rather put on yet another advert for Waterloo Road.
  9. Just watched the BBC forecast for the week ahead. Where do I start? Basically saying they haven't got a clue what is happening this week. A masterpiece in weeble-covering! Expect snow somewhere/everywhere/nowhere. Temperatures very cold (6 degrees c) and frosty nights (no Temperatures given). Honestly I despair at the current state of BBC forecasts.
  10. You'll know our chances of snow are scuppered if they put Darren Bett on next Sunday lunchtime!
  11. That's the exception. Brief spell of rain then just cloudy. Most precipitation will be up north.
  12. Wouldn't bet on it. Probably just cloudy and breezy. Any precipitation for Scotland as per usual.
  13. Sorry, just finished a challenging night shift so feeling pedantic!
  14. Don't let the MO outlook put you off watching. Their updates change regularly.
  15. Don't bother reading their updates, they are really not very accurate. They change with the wind!
  16. It's the same for most of Europe. I imagine that the skiing won't be too great.
