  1. Another stunning day. 22c and virtually cloudless bar a short period around 2pm, but all gone again now. Hard to believe it's actually happening! All set for this to continue into June, Summer 23 likely off to a good start
  2. We managed an impressive 382 days in 2015-16, none recorded between 01/07/2015 and 17/07/2016. A run I would not like to repeat again.
  3. 25c within reach somewhere in the SW today? A lot of places across Devon/Somerset/Dorset are forecasted to be 23-24, it's not out of the question Porthmadog was 23.3 yesterday
  4. The expensive bit is Exeter onwards as GWR have a complete monopoly on that line. Watch a London to Exeter return jump from £50 to £200 as you extend it to Plymouth. Sorry to take the conversation off topic lol Look at this insane setup from the GFS 00z, heatwave to start the summer anyone? Getting the heat pumps in early.
  5. Don't get me started on the transport down here it's atrocious!! Our only airport for over an hour around shut its doors in 2011 and the train requires a small mortgage, so a 6 hour coach journey is the only real option of getting from London to Plymouth if you can't drive.
  6. You pretty much hit the nail on the head. So a forecast like that basically means blue skies for the next 10 days
  7. A very rare occurrence considering how much colder we usually are in the summer months! Payback for last May which was pretty dire here with relentless cloud and drizzle from the 10th onwards.
  8. For all that it's not *especially* warm, I have been waiting for a sustained sunny/dry spell (or at least more than 2 sunny days in a row) for over three months now. And I'm over the moon that it's finally happened!
  9. I imagine not in the SE, no. You got a much better deal than us in May 2018 I think though. May 2020 is untouchable in general. A lovely spell of 20-23c sunny days coming up here, well above the late May average of 18c!
  10. Another beautiful sunny day. This could end up being one of my favourite Mays ever in my neck of the woods, behind 2020 and 2018 of course Funnily enough, this makes 2022 the only year out of the past eight to not produce a sunny warm spell of weather in late May, despite it being the warmest year on record.
  11. Definitely seeming better than the last two Mays! This one giving a lot of 2017 vibes though that was better in the east. Thundery and warm
  12. Hard to get better than this in May. 25c surely within reach on Monday as weather app usually underestimates
  13. This month, while variable across the country, has been a break from the relentless rain of March and April. Coronation bank holiday was wet but the rest has been useable, I'll take it after such a deluge!
  14. Feeling actually warm now. Just had four beautiful days in a row with a very pleasant looking spell coming up and heatwave potential? Welcome to the world, Summer 2023
  15. Oh nooo I actually feel bad for you, can't catch a break weather looks decent for when you return at least.
  16. A very gradual ascent into spring. A springlike February followed by a March that was wet and dull and a very mixed April followed by a dull but warm first half of May means we've been in a kind of winter/spring halfway house for over 3 months now. I'm so ready for this week! Finally some proper sustained springlike conditions rather than a day here and there.
  17. First third of May was quite dull but it wasn't at all a washout and in fact was fairly warm. This weekend has been lovely and the forecast is shaping up nicely as well, around 20c (which is a comfortable 2.5c above average for mid May) with a decent amount of sun and most importantly DRY all week. Models all consistent with this remaining the pattern for a decent length of time. Finally some weather to enjoy!
  18. I'm just really pleased that for the next 10 days we're not going to have to prepare for random monsoons occurring at any moment like we've had to since the start of March!
  19. I am in London for the day and if every day has been like this then I don't blame you all for moaning Plymouth at the moment is already 15 and sunny (looking to be the warmest day of the year) while here there's a thick blanket of cloud and it's 10c... I do feel sorry for the SE this spring, looks like a reverse summer 2020 situation
  20. Can confirm it has been brilliant here today. I feel so bad for those in the east, I suppose you do always get far better summers than us though!
  21. I think "baked" is an exaggeration but, we are sitting at about 0.5c above average I'd say. It's been wet and pretty dull so far but enough good days to keep me going. And with the forecast looking mainly settled and fairly warm there is reason to be optimistic about the rest of the month! Would love a proper heatwave now.
  22. After this weekend coming and recent improvements in the models I could totally see May finishing above average maximum wise, with at least average sunshine and not much rainfall to come. May 2017 vibes?
