  1. LetItSnow! Makes a change from winter, when there's a posse that turns up just to moan about the posters interpreting suggested outcomes in the MOD thread. Funny thing is they don't seem bothered, or driven to comment, when the projected model scenarios fail to materialise in any other season of the year.
  2. Alderc 2.0 That's tough, hope your dog's alright.
  3. In Absence of True Seasons I'd give my right arm to be able to walk my dog in the rain once again. Handsome looking dog by the way.
  4. *Stormforce~beka* I didn't think you were, sorry for any confusion.
  5. SunnyG Fully agree, and that's one of the reasons I prefer colder winters. I just found complaining about how wet it's been for the last year and then wanting weather conditions that would lead to more of it something of a paradox. I'll know better than to question such things in future.
  6. So, asking someone who's unhappy with how wet everywhere is why they wish for more rain is either a "pile on", alcohol/cider driven, or an attack on their weather preferences. Got it.
  7. NEVES SCREAMER Irrespective of what you like, or my preference, I don't see the logic in lamenting the amount of rain earlier in the year and then going on to hope for more of it throughout winter, as you did.
  8. NEVES SCREAMER You hadn't noticed the mild wet autumn when you wanted the mild wet winter?
  9. NEVES SCREAMER After "it's been relentlessly wet. For months on end." You're still fine with a mild wet winter?
  10. NEVES SCREAMER And mild as well, just what you said you wanted.
  11. In Absence of True Seasons 32° in Stratford upon Avon and ruined the start of my holiday, just when I thought it was autumn and safe.
  12. knocker And then what will the gossips find in order to occupy themselves?
  13. 78/79 Good for you, stick at it. I had to change Ramipril for Losartan as they caused a constant irritating cough and I take Apixaban thinners. I ditched Statins early January following four years of worsening muscle and joint aches, especially lower back and hips, and tendomnitis symptoms in my elbow, and hey presto, all of that's nearly gone! I've never felt the cold much but have become more aware of it since taking the medication - one of thsoe things I suppose.
  14. In Absence of True Seasons Neves Screamer's enjoyed it. We spoke earlier.
  15. Arctic Hare I'd have thought Spring was the quietest time for visitors to Bewdley. It's the only period when there aren't any fishing contests on the river, which draw in hundreds of people a week throughout the rest of the year, if the river's not in flood of course.
  16. *Stormforce~beka* Nice sentiment, if only it wasn't the anniversary of having to have my dog put to sleep it wouldn't be so sheet.
  17. NEVES SCREAMER Thanks. I'd have preferred some nice clean fresh air and natural light during the "short" days but we can't all be lucky.
  18. NEVES SCREAMER You got the very mild and very wet February you wanted, didn't you?
  19. Sun Chaser No anger, I was merely expressing surprise that someone would hope for a month of very wet weather when flooding was already an issue, and how you can construe from my comment that I think that anyone chooses the weather is a complete mystery to me.
  20. In Absence of True Seasons Yeah, I thought it was a strange thing to say in the middle of December, given the known connotations of such a scenario. I can't think of a single benefit but we're all different as you say. NB, it was posted in the Winter 2023/24 Chat and Discussion thread, before this one came into existence I think.
