  1. Yip, just arrived on the shores of Congleton. Very much a sleet/rain front. Grim. Guess I'll be driving to the pub for dinner now.
  2. Just been out in the car, a very heavy sleet/hail shower hit me on the way home, temps really dropped in the car to around 4 deg. Tomorrow looks pretty blustery, most of the weekend looks decent, but next week looks awful in the forecast! I know that's a week away and things change, so I hope they do.
  3. Won't complain too much after a fairly decent weekend, even if it was mixed with hail showers on Saturday at times. But yea, this weather this morning is the same as my mood right now.
  4. Nice and bright here this morning, although a bit breezy and cool enough. Great to see the sun out though!
  5. It's non stop. Middle of next week looks like a bit atlantic low. I reckon Easter will be a washout. Fairly bright here, but spots of rain now. Nothing in the forecast at all yesterday, now quite a bit is heading from the NW.
  6. Grey, wet, and more wet. Another man and his dog drenched this morning. Other than it being mild it just seems like we're back to this new typical winter weather. Fingers crossed we get something half decent for Easter.
  7. It was nice while it lasted this morning. It's now raining, dull, and has cooled down quite a bit.
  8. Nice and sunny here, but chilly. Rain looks well on it's way now. I forgot how frustrating March can be.
  9. Was north of Manchester and towards Leeds today. Truly dreadful day, rained non stop most of the day. I see more and more rain is creeping into the forecast now over the coming week or so. Perfect.
  10. Yip, can confirm. Full waterproofs for the dog walk this morning. Garden flooded again. The dry spell has been undone. Might even have to turn my office light back on at this rate. Grim.
  11. Big MTB ride from Macclesfield Forest out over to the Goyt Valley and back today. First half of the ride was very cold, dull, foggy and windy. Last hour or so the gloom cleared and it was pleasant enough, but that wind would cut you in two. Ground has dried out somewhat in many places, but others not so much, yet.
  12. Pretty dull day with the sun trying to come through. Quite chilly, especially when the wind picks up. Seems like it will be a fairly standard March by the looks of the forecast at the moment which I wont mind at all. The ground is drying around us which is nice. At last!
  13. This is more like it. Nice a crisp, sunny start to the day, just like early spring should be. Definitely chilly once the sun is gone, I was out on the bike last night and once the sun dipped down to the horizon the temp fairly dropped. Not much rain in the forecast now so lets hope this gives the ground a chance to start drying out.
  14. Wow, what a way for Spring to arrive. Properly gusty here, and heavy rain as the front rolled up. No sign of any snow, but will take a peak at Bosley Cloud later to see if that has any.
  15. So much for a settled period incoming. I went for a short cycle yesterday afternoon and got absolutely drenched. Really heavy rain for half an hour. The forecast showed light rain. It was biblical. Wet again this morning. Seems that will be the theme now for the foreseeable, there is rain in the forecast for every day here now.
  16. Pretty sure there was a burst of hail in this new band of rain. I also echo those thoughts earlier, we will just see more and more rain each year now. And everyone will have to adapt.
  17. Absolutely chucking it down here. The squall line woke me at around 4 or so and it was torrential. This looks slow moving too, can't see this clearing until mid morning but then another band of rain comes in. I'm sure there will be local floods now.
  18. The fields around us have been flooded all winter. Our back garden will be getting its own marine life soon if this rain doesn't stop A disgusting morning, very blustery and wet. Has eased now but looks like it will continue here for the afternoon. I'm off to Macc forest for a walk tonight, wish me luck!
  19. It's been like this for a few years now, the seasons seem to lose their meaning really. Never a prolonged seasonal period of weather. It's just an ebb and flow of cold to warm, and wet to less wet. I do feel a little sad when I see plants flowering earlier than they should. I hope mother nature knows what it's doing in the long run. I would love to see a bit of proper winter before it leaves us for another year. On the talk of March snowfalls, I remember back when I lived at home in Belfast having a great snowfall not that long ago at the end of March into April. It thawed quickly, but it fooled us all at the time.
  20. Very much like spring out there today but there's a big band of rain due very soon. Just in time to scupper any early evening outdoor plans.
  21. I wouldn't say it's weird at all, quite obvious really. I'd say unsettled for next week is about right. I can't see any snow event happening. It'll turn into cold rain and maybe higher ground will get some action.
  22. Joe Snow Yea it really has. Also got woke by that same band of heavy rain. Seemed like it didn't stop at all yesterday and last night. Not sure where this brightness is coming from. Light rain on the dog walk this morning.
  23. An absolutely awful day. Rain started about 3:30, and has been relentless. Full waterproofs walking the dog earlier. The garden is flooded, the fields are under water and the roads are covered in streams. And to think yesterday showed a dry day with a few showers in the evening.
  24. What an awful day. Since about 12 it's been raining, and getting quite heavy now. We must be on for one of the mildest Februarys on record? Don't ever remember it being this mild. I can remember it being much drier. These are spring temps.
