Record warmth in Spain in January is all well and good but let's hope that doesn't translate to record heat this summer. That could have severe consequences for Spain, and maybe for us if any heat were to move north.
@lassie23 Yep, and that has happened all too often when cold is forecast. Funny hiw it never seems to happen when the milder weather is being forecast though.
It's dry out there at least but I do wonder if we'll see any more cold this winter. The MetO backtracking on the February cold spell is certainly bad news for coldies.
I agree 100%. It's one thing when folk say "I prefer the hot weather and hate cold" but when people come in with an "I like hot weather and here's why you should too" that really gets my goat.
I'm seriously thinking of emigrating from this miserable, rain-soaked sh*thole of a country. Awful, seasonless weather, lousy quality of life, shabby towns and cities and bland countryside. Hope to get away within a decade or so.
Atlantic dross for the foreseeable future, even the EC46 which was predicting an erosion of the Iberian heights by mid-January is now putting that back to the end of Jan so that glimmer of hope has been snatched away.
I may as well give up on seeing any more cold this winter. The writing's on the wall.
You've got to laugh at the Met Office write-up for the run into Christmas: "a mix of weather". :D. Sure, if wind and rain, rain amd wind, gales and drizzle is your idea of a "mix".
Even tbe charts are uninteresting. No deep lows, just flat, straight westerlies overtopping the high to our south.
Imagine if it stayed like this all winter... :/
No thanks, we've got the entirety of summer as well as much of spring and autumn for that. I don't particulaely want spring in December, especially when we'll probably be getting that in February.
